One of our best sports betting sites is featuring early Las Vegas Grand Prix odds ahead of a premier race on the Formula 1 schedule. Let's examine the market.

The glitz. The Glamor. The inevitable Max Verstappen win.

The Las Vegas Grand Prix has quickly become one of the most anticipated events on the F1 calendar. That's partly because any major event in Las Vegas can get cranked up just due to the natural spectacle and aura of the city. But also because it's just inherently cool driving absurdly fast right down the Vegas strip.

But the inaugural race came with its issues. That includes problems with the track, and most notably Carlos Sainz's car sustaining significant damage after dislodging a drain cover during a practice session. The incident led to the cancellation of the first practice following just eight minutes, and Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur called the crash "unacceptable."

Secondly, holding a night race in late November in Las Vegas presented unique challenges. It gets chilly in the desert at night that time of year, resulting in one of the coldest F1 races ever and tough conditions for cars that rarely run in that temperature.

Nonetheless, the show goes on, as does dominance from Red Bull surely.

Here is our look at the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix odds from one of our best sportsbooks ahead of the Nov. 24 race.

Las Vegas Grand Prix odds 2024: Favorite

Max Verstappen (-333 via Caesars)

Verstappen took an outlandish 19 of the 22 races in 2023. Toss in the two wins from his teammate Sergio Perez, and Red Bull sat atop the podium for all but one event.

The three-time world champion doesn't just win. He blasts away from the field, often in the early laps. For example, the 2024 season-opening race in Bahrain ended with Verstappen winning while crossing the finish line 22.4 seconds ahead of Perez in second.

That was a common scene in 2023, but it wasn't the case in Las Vegas during the inaugural event. Verstappen was only just over two seconds in front when the checkered flag waved.

Verstappen feels like beyond a safe bet every week, and this price from Caesars will represent strong value compared to where it will likely close. But proceed with perhaps a sprinkle of caution, with inexperience on a still new track a factor.

Las Vegas Grand Prix odds odds 2024: Contender

Charles Leclerc (+1100 via Caesars)

Leclerc was strong during his first time under the bright lights of Vegas. The Ferrari driver finished second while being one of just two who were within about two seconds of Verstappen. After Perez behind Leclerc there was a canyon of space, with Esteban Ocon finishing fourth while 18.7 seconds behind the leader.

The 26-year-old endured some struggles to begin 2023. But then he finished on the podium in the final three races Leclerc appeared in to end the season, including two second-place results.

Las Vegas Grand Prix odds 2024: Long shot

Fernando Alonso (+4000 via Caesars)

The crafty veteran still managed to finish in the points during the Vegas 2023 race despite spinning out on the first corner. That came toward the end of a successful year with Aston Martin, with Alonso often near the front.

He notched 11 top-five finishes while fitting in seamlessly during his first year with a new team, including eight that landed him on the podium. Alonso had recorded a mere nine top-five outcomes over the previous six campaigns.

The 32-time winner also ended up in second three times during 2023, making him appealing at this price among the long shots with even a squinting hope.

Las Vegas Grand Prix betting analysis

Verstappen is a steep favorite at virtually any track, and his -333 odds now make the -190 price prior to the 2023 Vegas race look incredibly generous.

There's a colossal drop off after him, with Leclerc and Perez listed at +1200. That means one of our best sportsbooks is implying there's a 76.9% chance that Verstappen wins, while Leclerc and Perez sit second on the oddsboard but get a 7.7% chance.

The effect of Verstappen's dominance on projections and outright winner betting is clear. Picking a long shot is challenging, especially once you get to even the third tier of contenders by the odds. Oscar Piastri sits ninth on the board with already miles-long odds of +4000. But then there's a cliff dive after him to Lance Stroll at +20000.
