Jake Paul has met his match - and then some - in former Olympic gold medalist and world champion Anthony Joshua. Paul, typically a heavy betting while facing much smaller and/or older opponents, is the +700 underdog against Joshua (-1300) by the latest Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua odds for the Dec. 19 fight at Kaseya Center in Miami, and only on Netflix.

Below, we break down the odds, betting markets, full fight card, and my prediction to win Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua.

📊 Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua odds to win

Odds as of Tuesday, Dec 2, via FanDuel - one of our best boxing betting sites.

Fighter Odds to win Implied win probability Profit ($10 bet)
Jake Paul +700 12.50% $70
Anthony Joshua -1300 92.86% $0.77

Joshua, 28-4 with 25 knockout wins and two knockout losses, is the rightful heavy favorite in this professional bout fought under Queensberry rules. That's an important note for any fight involving Paul, a former YouTuber who rose to stardom with exhibition wins over the likes of retired NBA player Nate Robinson and defeated then-58-year-old Mike Tyson last year.

Paul is officially 12-1 with seven knockout wins. His only loss was against Tommy Fury via split decision in 2023.

This is a considerable step up for Paul after his most recent fight against Gervonta Davis, originally scheduled for Nov. 14, was canceled. Joshua, 36, is a modest eight years older than Paul and last weighed in at 252.7 pounds to Paul's 199.4.

A winning $10 bet on Joshua would return a profit of just 77 cents with the -1300 moneyline odds representing an implied 92.86% win probability. But that's the only bet to make at this stage, with only the moneyline odds available. Better bets will become available when fight lines open for the method of victory and Over/Under rounds.

⚖️ Method of victory odds

Here are the odds for the method of victory in the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua fight:

Method Odds
Anthony Joshua KO/TKO -425
Anthony Joshua points or decision +500
Jake Paul KO/TKO +1000
Jake Paul points or decision +1400
Draw +2500

Joshua by KO/TKO is the heavy favorite in this market with the -425 odds representing an implied probability of 80.95%. It's still the much more profitable way to bet on the outright favorite as a winning $10 bet here would return a profit of $2.35.

Generally a less popular bet, placing a wager on both fighters to win on points or decision could be a profitable endeavor. With this being a fight for the masses on Netflix, it's likely this gets drawn out for the full eight rounds by both combatants.

⏰ Will fight go the distance?

Here are the odds for the fight to go the distance on Friday, Dec. 19. It was announced the fight will consist of eight, 3-minute rounds:

Will fight go the distance? Odds
Yes +360
No -600

No is the favorite, as can be seen in the above method of victory odds for either fighter to win by KO/TKO. Still, a winning $10 bet on Yes would return a profit of $36 as the value bet.

🔮 Who will win Jake Paul (+700) vs. Anthony Joshua (-1300) prediction

Here is my best bet for the Dec. 19 fight between Paul and Joshua in Miami:

Anthony Joshua to win (-1300)

As I said above, this is the only bet to make at this stage. Joshua is older, more experienced - and more accomplished - heavier, taller, and has more to lose. Paul has previously hand-picked opponents such as Davis for exhibition bouts in which he held the considerable size (and/or age) advantage. He's now in the big leagues with this fight against the Englishman and former world champion.

That said, -1300 is not a great value bet. I'd prefer to wait for some additional betting lines to become available closer to fight night. Betting on Joshua to win via decision (+500) may be the best bet. It's important to remember that while a professional bout, this fight - on Netflix - is for entertainment purposes.
