🏈 Redblacks vs. Alouettes prediction & best bet
Alouettes -8.5 (-109)
Davis Alexander finally lost a game as a starter last week against the Edmonton Elks after begging his career 11-0. But despite the loss to a much improved Edmonton team, Montreal still looks a legit Grey Cup contender.
With Alexander behind center, the Als are No. 3 in the league in yards per game (457.7) and averaging 32 PPG. And their defense remains one of the best, as one of four teams giving up fewer than 30 PPG this season.
Meanwhile, Ottawa has the worst starting QB in the league (Jake Maier) with a defense allowing the second-most PPG (36.5). The Redblacks are 6-14 ATS since the beginning of last season.
Score prediction: Alouettes 34, Redblacks 24
🔥 Best Redblacks vs. Alouettes player prop bet
Tyson Philpot Over 6.5 receptions (-110)
When Tyson Philpot is healthy, there are few more dangerous playmakers in the CFL. He's been unstoppable this season, leading the league in receiving yards (389) on 24 receptions.
The favorite to win CFL Most Outstanding Canadian has caught at least seven passes in all three games this season. Alexander knows what he has in Philpot, who's put up 1,972 yards in his last 24 games, while averaging six receptions per game over that stretch.
Ottawa is giving up the third-most passing yards per game in the league (337.0), so expect Montreal to go to the air early and often.
