The defending World Series champions are showing the baseball world that they should not be overlooked this October. Can the Braves keep their run going against a talented Houston squad? Here are our Astros-Braves same-game parlay picks for Saturday.

The Braves kept things rolling in a convincing 6-2 win over the Astros on Friday, but which side will have the advantage in a tight pitching matchup in Game 2 on Saturday?

Here are my same-game parlay picks for the Saturday matchup between the Astros and Braves (odds via FanDuel Sportsbook).

Same Game Parlay Predictions for Astros vs. Braves

Under 7.5 (-118)

Cristian Javier has enjoyed three straight starts of six innings pitched and two runs or fewer allowed to his opponents. Spencer Strider is waltzing to the Rookie of the Year Award for Atlanta, having permitted no more than one run in seven of his last nine starts.

Given the status of these two hurlers, a pitchers’ duel could be in order for Saturday night in Atlanta. Behind the starters, we place our trust in two of the best bullpens in MLB, as Astros and Braves relievers both rank inside the top five in bullpen ERA this season.

Strider Under 7.5 strikeouts (-156)

Though I expect Strider to positively contribute to a low-scoring total in Saturday’s game, I’m not necessarily feeling an elevated strikeout total for the Braves’ rookie starter.

Strider has racked up gaudy K figures at times, enjoying three separate occasions with 11 or more Ks over his last 10 starts. But in the other seven games among those 10, Strider exceed seven Ks just once.

His ability to occasionally roar back for ridiculous totals keeps sportsbooks on their toes when it comes to this pitcher. But more often than not, the numbers show you’d rather be on the Under side of this line with Strider. Houston has the second-lowest per-game strikeout rate in MLB at 7.33 Ks per game this season.

DraftKings doesn’t offer an O/U on pitcher strikeout totals for this game, so we’re looking at FanDuel for this parlay Saturday.

Swanson 2+ Total Bases (+140)

Dansby Swanson has a small sample of at-bats against Javier in his career, but the success suggests he sees the Astros righty pretty well. In three ABs, Swanson has taken Javier deep twice.

Swanson has compiled an OPS of .808 for the campaign. Coming off of a three-hit game on Friday, Swanson could be primed to put a charge into one against Houston on Saturday. But because he’s hit just one homer this month, I don’t have the gumption to predict that particular play (+420) as the third leg of the parlay.

Several paths to multiple total bases for the .295-hitting Swanson give us confidence in this prop, which still provides a nice jolt to the overall combined odds of the parlay.
