Tulane vs. Kansas State Prediction: Week 3 Odds, Picks & Best Bet
Last Updated: September 18, 2026 1:15 PM EDT • 2 minute read X Social Google News Link
My best Tulane vs. Kansas State prediction anticipates a low-scoring game at Bill Snyder Family Field in Manhattan, Kan. Tulane's offense has struggled this season, averaging just 15.5 points per game through two weeks. Below, I explain why I expect those difficulties to continue against a defense that has been dominant through two weeks.
Kansas State is favored by 20.5 points ahead of Saturday's noon ET game. The contest will air on ESPN2 and stream on ESPN Unlimited.

Under 50.5 (-113 via FanDuel)
Through two games, Tulane ranks 108th in total offense. Led by quarterback Kadin Semonza, Tulane managed just 258 yards against Duke and currently ranks 88th nationally in passing offense.
While running back Jaylin Lucas exploded for 214 rushing yards against South Alabama, 80 of those came on one play. Tulane finished with just 54 rushing yards against Duke.
After holding Washington State to just 166 yards and seven points last week, Kansas State ranks second in total defense and opponent yards per play. With the third-best scoring defense in the nation, I don't expect Kansas State to give up much to a lackluster Tulane offense.
📡 SBR Edge
Tulane's offense expectedly picked up chunk plays against South Alabama but averaged just 4.6 yards per play against Duke. Only 12 teams in the entire nation are averaging fewer than 4.6 yards per play this season.
Kansas State's rushing attack will keep the clock moving
Kansas State is tied for the 10th-most points per game this season, but 71 points against Nicholls is inflating that stat. However, led by Rodney Fields Jr., Kansas State's rushing attack is for real and ranks eighth in the nation in rushing yards per game. Tulane currently has the eighth-worst rush defense.
Kansas State is averaging 42 rush attempts per game, which ranks 32nd in the country. With this type of approach on Saturday, the clock will always be moving. And I expect some drives to stall, as Tulane's defense has been solid enough this season, holding Duke to 17 and South Alabama to 24.
Score prediction: Kansas State 27 Tulane 10
