The absence of former head coach Kyle Whittingham has had zero negative impact on Utah. In fact, the Utes arguably look better in 2026 under head coach Morgan Scalley, as star QB Devon Dampier has lit up the scoreboard, logging a 73.8 percent completion rate for 437 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Dampier's dual-threat ability makes him a threat in the run game, where he's logged 4.7 YPC and a pair of rushing touchdowns. Now, the Utes' offense gets a crack at its in-state rival, entering this game with 109 total points scored in their first two contests.

Utah just beat the brakes off of Arkansas, while Utah State lost a tight 16-14 game on the road to Washington. The Aggies' defense has played well, holding opponents to 3 total touchdowns, but Dampier's offense is going to test their ability right out of the gate.

This is the first time Dampier will face the Aggies as a Ute, with Utah posting a 38-21 win in 2024 before his arrival. I think this game gets out of hand early, while the Utes' top-30 scoring defense shuts down a turnover-riddled Utah State offense.

Dampier and Parker should be able to rack up production against the Aggies. Utah State's defense has not forced a turnover, while giving up nearly 250 passing yards to Washington in Week 2. The Aggies are turnover-prone and penalty-ridden on both sides of the football, which is why the Utes will cruise to a huge victory at home.
