Saturday's Big Noon Kickoff brings us one of the biggest games of the college football season so far, and we have you covered with our Oklahoma vs. Michigan expert picks. The No. 11 Sooners are currently 5.5-point betting favorites ahead of kickoff at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor at 12 p.m. ET on FOX.

This is exactly what Big Noon Kickoff was made for. Oklahoma enters the matchup after a dominant 51-0 win over UTEP, while Michigan narrowly escaped Western Michigan with a 13-12 victory in Week 1. Most of our experts below are backing the Sooners, but we do have a holdout on Michigan so far.

Expert Pick
Mike Spector Michigan +5.5 (-105 via FanDuel)
LJ Blut John Mateer anytime TD  (+160 via FanDuel)

Mike Spector's pick: Michigan +5.5 (-105)

The way UTEP defended Oklahoma last week gave Michigan a clear blueprint for how to strategize this week: don’t blitz. Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer racked up all of his 225 passing yards against the blitz, which UTEP deployed on 14 of his 18 dropbacks. Conversely, Mateer went 0-for-4 against a standard pass rush, so the Wolverines should drop more defenders in coverage often.

Michigan should also be encouraged by how its defense held up, despite losing the time-of-possession battle by more than 20 minutes. It didn’t allow a touchdown from Western Michigan’s three red zone possessions.

LJ Blut's pick: John Mateer anytime TD (+160)

John Mateer is an excellent candidate to score a rushing touchdown against Michigan on Saturday. The Oklahoma quarterback already showed how dangerous he can be with his legs in last year’s matchup, rushing 19 times for 74 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-13 victory over the Wolverines.

Mateer also has a proven track record as a runner, rushing for 826 yards and 15 touchdowns at Washington State in 2024 before adding eight rushing scores for Oklahoma in 2025. Michigan’s defense will have to account for Mateer on every read-option and designed quarterback run, creating opportunities near the goal line. With his rushing ability and history against this defense, Mateer has strong touchdown upside Saturday.
