After starting the season ranked in the AP top 10, Oklahoma enters a matchup against No. 2 Georgia unranked, and my Oklahoma vs. Georgia prediction expects the Sooners to be exposed in a game with a huge perceived talent gap.
Kickoff from Sanford Stadium in Athens is set for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon. Oklahoma is a 13.5-point betting favorite.

🐶 Georgia -13.5 (-118 via FanDuel)
Through three games, Georgia looks every bit the part of a team that can win a third straight SEC championship. The Bulldogs haven’t missed a beat since last year, when their defense ranked 10th in FBS in points per game and fourth in rushing yards per game allowed. A stout defense was always likely, considering the team returned 13 of 18 defenders who logged at least 200 snaps last year.
Gunner Stockton entered the season with 21 passing and rushing touchdowns versus AP-ranked teams, and an 84% completion percentage in the fourth quarter (both best in FBS). He also ranked in the top six in Total QBR (85) and wins as a starter (12), and I trust him much more than Sooners quarterback John Mateer, who can no longer use the excuse of a broken bone in his throwing hand as the reason why he went 2-2 as a starter in October last year.
The fact that this number moved off of the key number of -14 in Oklahoma's favor suggests respected action has come in on the underdog. But I am undeterred by that movement, as I likely would've looked at alternate spreads to buy this line down below the key number regardless. Some top sports betting sites still have Georgia as high as -14.5, and I'd pass on that line.
📡 SBR Edge- A dominant start
Georgia set a record with its 12th straight season starting 3-0, the most consecutive such seasons among FBS teams in the AP Poll era (Alabama had 11 from 2004-14). But that doesn't even begin to describe the Bulldogs' dominance this year, as they've scored 45-plus points in each of the first three games of a season for the first time in school history.
Georgia's offense has been explosive in limited action
There were question marks about Georgia’s ability to create explosive plays this season. After all, Gunner Stockton averaged 6.8 air yards per attempt last season, which was the fourth-lowest among 83 FBS quarterbacks with at least 300 pass attempts.
So far, the Bulldogs have taken the fewest snaps of any FBS team in “non-garbage time”. But they still have had 20-yard gains or more on 12% of their plays overall, which ranks second nationally. It helps when two wide receivers, Craig Dandridge and Sacovie White-Helton, are averaging 19.8 yards per catch.
