NFL Picks Against the Spread Week 3: ATS Predictions for Every Game

I’m excited to dive into my Week 3 ATS predictions after enduring a bitterly disappointing Week 2. I knew it wasn’t my week when Jaxson Dart suffered a knee injury on the opening series of what should have been a wonderfully engaging and competitive MNF encounter.

As I look to recover faster than Dart, I’ve offered an ATS pick for each game on the docket, focusing on the Buffalo Bills, Seattle Seahawks, and Cincinnati Bengals.

Chargers vs. Bills (-7)⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Buffalo Bills have scored 77 points in two games. While amassing 41 against a subpar Detroit Lions defense is nothing to write home about, piling up 36 in Houston put the league on notice.

Clark Kent, I mean Josh Allen, has nine TDs. Compare that to Deshaun Watson, who had eight TDs in the 148 weeks leading up to Week 2.

The Chargers are out of sorts, and the Justin Herbert-Mike McDaniel coupling is going about as well as trying to cut your hair with a butter knife.

Herbert has thrown three interceptions compared to only two TDs, and he still hasn’t exceeded 210 passing yards. Sure, the Chargers might surprise us in Week 3, but I’m backing the league’s most explosive, dynamic offense against a defense that allowed 698 yards to the Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders.

Seahawks (-6.5) vs. Commanders ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Seattle Seahawks haven’t missed with Drew Lock under center since the fifth offensive play of the season. Drew is locked in, and the Seahawks defense is as frightening as last season. So far, it has allowed 17 points and 428 total yards.

Lock, meanwhile, has four TDs and is averaging 8.8 yards per attempt.

Speaking of frightening, the Washington Commanders face a recurring nightmare: Jayden Daniels is back on the treatment table after dislocating his elbow in Week 2.

And I trust backup Marcus Mariota, who threw seven picks and 10 TDs last season, about as far as I can throw any of the Seahawks’ offensive linemen.

Bengals (-3.5) vs. Steelers ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Cincinnati Bengals have been one of the best teams to start the season on both sides of the ball, which is a testament to how far the defense has progressed.

That defense caused four turnovers in Week 1 and allowed just six points at Houston in Week 2. Couple that effective unit with Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase, and Co., and we have a revitalized Bengals team that should be considered among the top AFC contenders.

The Steelers were awful offensively against the New England Patriots, and the only team with a worse EPA per play is the hapless Atlanta Falcons.
