Miami vs. Clemson Same-Game Parlay for Week 5: SGP Picks & Odds

Clemson’s offense probably can’t keep pace with Miami, but can the Tigers make the game ugly enough to keep it respectable?

My Miami vs. Clemson same-game parlay views Clemson and this Death Valley environment as a sneaky test for No. 4 Miami. With Clemson’s desire to shorten the game, Under is the theme in a big prove-it opportunity for Dabo Swinney’s bunch.

With Miami favored by 16.5 points, the action kicks off from Memorial Stadium in Clemson, S.C., Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET (ABC).

🚀 Best Miami vs. Clemson SGP & parlay picks for Week 5

Under 47.5 (-104)

Though Miami blasted Stanford 45-6 in its first road game, that matchup doesn’t reflect my expected outcome for this one because Stanford’s defense (110th in adjusted efficiency) doesn’t translate to how Clemson (30th in adjusted defensive efficiency) might slow down the Hurricanes.

Outside an embarrassing 51-point allowance on the road at LSU, Clemson has kept it tidy on defense. In a charged-up road environment, I could see Miami struggling to score at its typical pace.

Meanwhile, Clemson ranks 110th in adjusted offensive efficiency and likely won’t contribute much to the scoring.

Darian Mensah Under 255.5 passing yards (-114)

In Darian Mensah, Clemson will face its toughest opposing quarterback task of the season in this game, but the Tigers have held two straight ACC QBs below 140 passing yards coming into the matchup.

While Mensah has thrown for 3+ passing touchdowns in each game this season, he’s only cleared a 255.5-yard passing total twice in four contests. A quieter game correlates with our expectations for the game total going Under.

FanDuel allows us to bet Under on player prop totals, so that’s where we’ll play this SGP.

Clemson Over 100.5 team rushing yards (-114)

Miami ranks No. 1 in the nation in run defense (40.3 rushing yards per game). I’m a skeptic on the legitimacy of the stat, though, since Miami has only faced one decent offense, a Wake Forest team that predominantly went to the air due to its general offensive identity aligning with a negative game script.

Clemson wants to run (155.3 yards per game, 55th in FBS) to shorten games, and is largely incapable of passing (155.8 yards per game, 120th in FBS). After racking up 257 rushing yards at Cal, I like Clemson to hit this line.
