My best Florida vs. Auburn prediction focuses on the offensive and defensive advantages that Florida has in this SEC matchup. With one of the best red-zone offenses in the nation and a defense that's been good at forcing takeaways, I'm not surprised that Florida is favored by 2.5 on the road.

Saturday's 7 p.m. ET game at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Ala., will air on ESPN and stream on ESPN Unlimited.

Florida -2.5 (-105 via DraftKings)

Auburn currently has the 24th-ranked rushing offense in the nation, but let's not overreact to 343 yards against Southern Miss. Auburn managed just 130 rushing yards against Baylor, averaging only 3.1 yards per carry.

Florida hasn't faced a power conference team yet, but the Gators are still holding opponents to just 2.94 yards per carry this season. Additionally, when Auburn drops back to pass, I expect Florida's defensive front, which has been quiet with just 4.0 sacks this season, to finally break through against an offensive line that has allowed 6.0 sacks. That's tied for the 13th-most in the nation.

Another area where Florida has the edge is turnovers. Byrum Brown threw three interceptions against Baylor, and Auburn has a turnover margin of 0 entering this game. Florida has a +2 turnover margin, with two interceptions.

📡 SBR Edge

Florida quarterback Aaron Philo gets a great matchup, as Auburn allowed Baylor quarterback DJ Lagway to set a career-high against an FBS opponent with 333 yards in Week 1.

Florida's red-zone offense has been dominant

Though the competition hasn't been great, Florida hasn't squandered any offensive opportunities this season. Florida has scored on all 12 of its red zone trips, finding the end zone 11 times. That's the most touchdowns of any perfect red zone offense this season.

While Auburn has only allowed five red zone trips this season, opponents have scored in four of those opportunities.

Score prediction: Florida 27 Auburn 20
