My college football moneyline picks cashed underdog plays of +120 and +130 odds last week while going 2-1 on the top three plays of the week (the lone loss was North Dakota State, which had a solid defensive effort while allowing just 13 points).
I’m back to build on last week’s successful plays with outright picks from 20 more matchups from the Week 7 slate, including why No. 12 UCLA should avoid a letdown against Wisconsin after its big road win over Oregon.

Best college football moneyline picks: Week 7
East Carolina (-188 via bet365) vs. UAB
Bet size: 1 unit
East Carolina has rebounded nicely from a 38-point loss at Alabama and 3-point loss to Appalachian State to win its last three games by 52 combined points (despite being an underdog in one of those games).
UAB failed to cover as a 15.5-point underdog in a 25-point loss at Memphis last week. The same struggles that plagued the Blazers for much of the season resurfaced. UAB managed just 13 points, none in the second half, after entering the week with fewer than 23% of its possessions resulting in touchdowns (109th). After allowing the 17th-most sacks in the country through five games (13), UAB allowed three more sacks and seven tackles for loss.
📡 SBR Edge: Not containing explosive runs
UAB struggled to contain explosive runs all season, and just allowed three different Memphis running backs to record at least one 10-yard carry. In all, the Tigers ran for 230 yards and averaged five yards per carry, while East Carolina overcame a 47.1 PFF run blocking grade last week to earn a 71.3 PFF running grade overall.
Washington (+136 via DraftKings) vs. Purdue
Bet size: 1 unit
This is a matchup of two teams coming off vastly different results, as Washington was bullied in a 17-point home loss to Iowa, while Purdue dominated Minnesota in a 28-point home win.
The Boilermakers just ran for 300-plus yards for the ninth time in a Big Ten game since 1995. And while the Huskies were just exposed for 41 points from Iowa playing with a backup quarterback, just two weeks ago Washington’s defense turned in a stellar performance. The Huskies limited a high-powered USC offense to just one explosive drive in 11 possessions, while the Trojans converted just 35.7% of their third down opportunities and finished with fewer yards per play.
Washington also had an extra day to prepare, having played last Friday night. It has won 70% of its games with a rest advantage since 2024.
No. 12 UCLA (-146 via FanDuel) vs. Wisconsin
Bet size: 1 unit
UCLA’s offense is a big reason for its 5-0 start. While 17 points was enough to win on the road at Oregon last week, the Bruins had averaged 44.8 points through their first four games, following a 14.5 points per game average through their first four games in 2024 and 2025.
Bruins running back Wayne Knight scored UCLA’s only two touchdowns against Oregon, one rushing and one receiving. He entered the game with nine rushing touchdowns, tied for third-most among FBS players and the most by a Bruin through four games since 2004. Knight was also averaging 9.1 yards per rush entering the week (second in FBS, min. 45 rush attempts), and should create issues for a Badgers defense that ranks outside the top seven in the Big Ten in rushing yards allowed per game.
In all, UCLA's running game should take pressure off its backup quarterback if Nico Iamaleava is ruled out.
