Ukraine One Step Away From 2022 FIFA World Cup

Ukraine is a single win away from qualifying for the 2022 FIFA World Cup scheduled to be held in Qatar in November.

We are inching ever closer to finally having confirmed all 32 teams in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Ukraine's 3-1 win over Scotland away on June 1 puts them one match away from the biggest tournament in sports and being the 13th and final team from Europe to qualify.

Roman Yaremchuk opened the scoring for Ukraine, while West Ham United's Andrei Yarmolenko made it 2-0. Scotland's Callum McGregor made it 2-1 to put the pressure on the visitors before Artem Dovbyk sealed it in stoppage time.

Ukraine are looking to qualify for the first time since 2006, and second time overall as an independent nation. In 2006 they made the quarter-finals only to lose to eventual champions Italy.

This match and the following one against Wales were supposed to be played in March but were postponed due to the still ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine. The game will be played at Cardiff City Stadium in Wales with the winner going into Group B alongside England, Iran, and the USA.

At FanDuel Sportsbook, Wales are +160 to win while Ukraine are +180. The draw is currently priced at +200. Ukraine are currently +11000 to win the World Cup.

Needless to say, outside of Wales, there will be a lot of neutrals hoping that Ukraine can get one more win and qualify.
