Don't count the Boston Red Sox out just yet.

At least one bettor in New York, yes, New York, made a $5,000 bet on the Red Sox to win the World Series at +5000 at Caesars Sportsbook.

Boston got off to a horrendous start to the season, going 9-13 to start April. Things didn't improve in mid-May. They sported a 13-21 record on May 15, and pundits were starting to talk as if they'd be sellers at the trade deadline.

World Series odds via DraftKings Sportsbook, FanDuel Sportsbook, and Caesars. Of note, DraftKings listed the Red Sox at +5000 Monday night before they defeated the Angels 1-0.

Move ahead to June 7. The Red Sox now sit at 28-27, and in a playoff position if the season ended today.

Here are some interesting notes about their recent success.

And don't forget Trevor Story's incredible hot streak. From May 16 to May 24, Story recorded 11 hits, 7 home runs, and 18 RBI in 31 at-bats.

Again, you can't write the Red Sox off just yet.
