The Diamondbacks are currently 17-14 for the campaign and in fourth place in the National League West Division, arguably the toughest division in baseball.

Arizona has been especially hot with three consecutive wins and an active 10-3 record.

Pitching has been the strength of the Diamondbacks, as starters Zac Gallen, Merrill Kelly, and Madison Bumgarner have been fantastic to start the campaign.

It's helped the Diamondbacks sport the seventh-lowest team ERA in the majors; however, striking out an MLB-low 6.8 batters per nine innings probably means that long-term success isn't unsustainable.

Offensively, outfielder Daulton Varsho has been leading the way with nine runs, two home runs, six RBI, and a .933 OPS during the noted 13-game stretch. Second baseman Ketel Marte also has a 1.219 OPS with nine runs, and eight extra-base hits through his past ten contests.

Still, Arizona is the only team in the majors with a batting average below .200, and their .287 wOBA ranks 23rd in the league.

Finally, it's worth noting the Diamondbacks play the division-leading Los Angeles Dodgers eight times before the end of May.

Considering The Blue Crew are the betting favorites (+450) to win the World Series, it should be a meaningful conclusion to the month for the D-Backs and their optimistic Arizona supporter.
