Big Money on Allen Lazard To Lead NFL in Receiving Touchdowns

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard is the largest liability for BetMGM to lead the NFL in receiving touchdowns this season.
Lazard has received 6.4% of the betting tickets and 14.7% of the betting handle in the market, and his odds have plummeted from +6600 at opening to +4000 to pace the NFL in receiving TDs.
After Green Bay dealt five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders, Lazard projects to open the 2022 season as the No. 1 target for back-to-back MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
It’s a cushy gig for Lazard, and with him opening with long odds to lead the NFL it isn’t surprising that he took significant early betting action in the market at the sportsbook.
Lazard hauled in a respectable eight TDs last season on just 60 targets across 15 games. The BetMGM bookmakers moving Lazard’s odds highlight they’re aware of the wideouts potential to flirt with the league lead in receiving TDs this season.

Cooper Kupp, WR, Rams
The betting favorite to lead the NFL in receiving TDs again this season, Cooper Kupp has room for statistical correction following his monster 2021 showing without sinking his chances in this market.
It’s definitely worth noting that teammate Allen Robinson has received the second most money wagered at BetMGM to lead the NFL in receiving scores this year.
Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, Detroit Lions
Still at +10000 in this market, Amon-Ra St. Brown is by far the most popular long-shot bet to finish the regular season with the most receiving TDs at BetMGM.
While probably still properly priced currently, St. Brown did cap off his rookie season with 51 receptions for 560 yards and five TDs through his final six 2021 games. Now, he just needs to prove he can replicate that production across an entire season.
Justin Jefferson, WR, Vikings
First-year head coach Kevin O'Connell is expected to inject creativity into the entire Minnesota Vikings offense, and Justin Jefferson could benefit as much as anyone on the roster.
Jefferson caught 10 TDs passes last season to tie for sixth in the league, and he should remain among the betting favorites in this market throughout the 2022 season.
CeeDee Lamb, WR, Cowboys
The third-year WR should be the clear-cut No. 1 target for quarterback Dak Prescott. But with just 11 career receiving TDs through his first two seasons, CeeDee Lamb still has to prove he can consistently find the end zone. Lamb is currently trading as a second-tier favorite and attracting a healthy percentage of tickets and money in this market.
For what it’s worth, former Dallas Cowboys receivers Amari Cooper and Cedrick Wilson combined for 14 TDs and 24 red-zone targets last season, so Lamb stands to see plenty of those departed looks.
