No division in the NFL has garnered more attention leading into the 2022 season than the stacked AFC West.

The Kansas City Chiefs are the favorite to win the division for a seventh consecutive season, but the Los Angeles Chargers, Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders all made offseason splashes to bolster their respective rosters.

For reference, after the Buffalo Bills, the Chiefs, Chargers and Broncos currently have the next three shortest odds to represent the AFC in Super Bowl LVII at Caesars Sportsbook.

Here are the division odds at Caesars, DraftKings and FanDuel Sportsbooks followed by a burning question for each team in the AFC West.

Kansas City Chiefs

It’s easy to forget the Chiefs held a 21-3 lead in the AFC Championship Game last year, and had they topped the Cincinnati Bengals, Kansas City would have been favorites to win the Super Bowl.

In fact, it could have been their second championship in three years, and we’d be discussing quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ rise to greatness.

Instead, currently, Kansas City isn’t even a sizable favorite to win its own division in 2022.

Are bookmakers, pundits and fans all disrespecting the perennially dangerous Chiefs?

Los Angeles Chargers

Speaking of quarterbacks rising toward greatness, Chargers signal caller Justin Herbert is at the heart of the MVP conversation, and the team also added edge rusher Khalil Mack to both complement and line up opposite Joey Bosa.

It’s tough to nitpick this roster, and if the Bolts can improve their league-worst run defense from last season, the star power could take Los Angeles on a deep playoff run.

Still, considering the myriad of ways the Chargers have lost with high-end talent during their existence, how much are you willing to invest in them this year?

Denver Broncos

Imagine having one of the best offseason personnel turnovers in the NFL and still having the third longest odds to win your own division.

Alas, Denver boosts one of the most balanced rosters in the league, and nine-time Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson brings championship pedigree and leadership. Don’t underrate the sneaky upgrades on defense, either.

With the draft capital sent to the Seattle Seahawks to acquire Wilson, how long will the window to contend remain open for the new-look Broncos?

Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders won four straight to finish the 2021 season and earn a playoff berth, so adding veteran wide receiver Davante Adams and edge rusher Chandler Jones stands to make Las Vegas a more dangerous opponent.

Still, while new head coach Josh McDaniels is also an exciting addition, oddsmakers have positioned the Raiders as a longshot to win the AFC West.

Las Vegas projects to be an annoyance to its divisional foes, but can the Raiders hang above their weight class all year and punch a ticket to the postseason for a second consecutive season?
