why is federer so poor today?? didnt even tried to fight much..

He had a chance there on that last AD, he blew it. That was the momentum changing opportunity and Federer couldn't do it. He lost because he chose to! He served without aggression for most of the match except when he was about to lose a break point or really needed to take a game. Berdych wanted it more! Sorry to those who paid the juice on him or had him in a parlay. I didn't have him at all today. To be completely honest he has looked slow and unlike the Roger Federer we have all watched for years. This loss right here really does signify the end of an era for him. Not saying he isn't still an amazing player but unless he gets back to doing what really made him the top player in the world, he will not be in that spot!

As I said in another thread, I put Federer and Nadal in a parlay because you will rarely be able to get odds on either of them like that but I only lost $100 which I'm fine with considering the amount of money Federer's made me over the years. But I agree with you and even said it in one of TB's old threads before the French - I believe Federer is more focused on life off the court now and is on his way to retirement. Maybe not this year or even the next, but I do not believe you'll see him dominate the way he once did again. I just hope he retires before he goes on one of those downward slides that makes it painful to watch.

Definitely. He needed to settle down in the first set and he started to do that near the end. Now he's finally getting the chance to play his game. I can't guarantee he'll win of course but I'm liking what I see for your bet.

fukkin a thats the second time i stood up for him when everyones been talking shit that he's done now he makes me look like a moron cause it seems like he doesn't even care anymore.

Unfortunately I think that is the Roger Federer we see for the rest of his career. We can't say he just doesn't care about the smaller tournaments and that's why he loses some of those matches to people he shouldn't ... we're talking Grand Slams now where he was a FIXTURE in semifinals, like automatic to make the SEMIS. No longer. Why it may be a little sad to see Federer falling, it is really good for men's tennis because outside of Nadal at the French - the other three Slams now appear that they will be wide open in the future and offer some great value on futures.

I actually ended up better than I deserved to considering the crap plays I posted. I took the Nadal match to go 4 or 5 but didn't pick a winner because I didn't want to Diesel Paco's big bet considering how crappy I was capping. And I picked Murray to win in 4 or 5. So I'll end up ahead a bit which is great but I still feel like dirt about the ones I posted on here.

Hopefully tomorrow is a much better day for my posted plays.

Tomorrow's another day, hope it's a big one for you. I love the buzz at Wimbledon now after a couple of upsets. After that disgusting exit from the World Cup, Britain needed Murray to step up. And he did, saving my day in the process

IMO therein lies the problem - Roger has reached the stage now where he doesn't need to play week in week out. But that is leaving him a bit underdone when he steps into the grand slams. He managed to get away with it earlier in the year at the Oz Open but it has clearly caught up with him at the French and now Wimbledon.

Its perfectly understandable that he goes this way, given that he's a father and he has nothing left to accomplish in tennis but its always regrettable to see the decline of a champion in any sport.

On the bright side though there should be plenty of value to found in fading fed when he comes up against good players like he did last night. IMO the books will be slow / reluctant to adjust to his decline

Serena -5.5 -120

The other two crazy women: a small play on it going to 3 sets

I don't trust the Russian or the Bulgarian at all so I am not willing to put money on who will win this one. If I was forced to chose, I'd go with the Russian but as I said: Definite no bet for me.

Best of luck everyone just in case I'm not back on in time for the first match.
