I can't see him pushing himself that hard right before Wimbledon when he's worried about an injury. It'll either be Lopez or no play for me, but right now I'm leaning Lopez.

I think there's a really strong chance he retires or loses. Remember - Lopez is his best friend who's having a really crap time personally. Lopez advancing will mean more to Lopez than Nadal advancing will to Nadal when he has an injury concern. It's not like he needs anything from this tournament. I just really wouldn't be surprised to see him exit this round. But I've obviously been way off before so who knows

Kewell is a massive bellend. Used to play for my club (Liverpool) and the bastard spent seasons on the injury table. Got "fit" for the final of the Champions League and then got injured. TWICE this happened.

I think that's a good bet. I just can't see the logic for Nadal pushing himself in this one, especially right after RG and right before Wimbledon. I think it may be a slightly lopsided one way or another or else he retires. I'll hop on it too.

Germany will struggle to get through that stage and I think Serbia will even win it. Germany is done at the quarters bro and Argentina will get semi's AT BEST those moves by Maradona are going to bite him in the ass. Plus leaving Zenetti and Cambiossa off the team?

Midfield still undecided, the fact we are waiting for Gareth Barry to return from injury as some sort of psuedo saviour says a lot about where we're at. Gareth Barry!! Obvioulsy there's Rooney.

Our biggest plus is probably Capello's Italian defensive belligerence, but I'm not sure it will count for much.

Llodra's playing quite well also. Very tough against Cilic and his serve has been hard and consistent - he's holding 75% of his first serves this week and saving 96% of his break points. I'll be curious to see what the line comes out at.

Goat gets it spot on here. Serbia might even win their group. Germany don't look as menacing as they did four years ago, though they do have a better manager in Joachim Lowe (sp). Their team might spring a surprise but they are very inconsistent.

As for Argentina, Maradona is going to mess up their best chance of winning the World Cup in years. He's an absolutely shit manager and Argentina qualified only because they had luck on their side. Also, Maradona made a massive mistake leaving out treble winners Javier Zanetti (who played brilliantly the whole season and kept Messi on the leash against Barcelona) and Esteban Cambiasso. However, Argentina have a great attacking side, with world's best player Messi being accompanied by Aguero, Milito (who was brilliant this season and made me tons of money), Tevez etc.

It's going to be a very open World Cup. If I really had to put my money on semi-finalists, I would put it on Spain and Brazil/England (who might face each other in the quarter finals, I think).

This much negativity, my fellow country-man? Best chance since 1966 to win it, in my opinion.

Terry has been shaky but so has Ferdinand. I'm glad Ferdinand is out because I think Carragher and King are much better defenders than him.

In midfield, Barry helps to keep the balance and is a loss for the first game. But I really think Lampard and Stevie Gerrard will step it up. Lennon had a great season with Spurs and will look to continue his form. Joe Cole looked good for Chelsea and is an experienced international. Only disappointment was Adam Johnson not making it to the squad because I really felt he would provide a lot more options and variety to the team.

Up-front, we are going to depend very heavily on Rooney and if he has a woeful World Cup, we're ****ed. Simple as. However, I'm hoping Defoe and Crouch step up in the absence of Rooney. Would have liked Bent to go as well.

Big player is going to be Gerrard. After a shit season with Liverpool, he will look to make amends. Also, getting the captain's armband is going to give him the extra-motivation he needs.
