Nikolay Davydenko is ready to return to tennis with hopes of starting his comeback next week on grass in Halle, Germany. a field studded with talent headed by Roger Federer and Robin Soderling.

The Russian last played mid-March at Indian Wells on hardcourt. After playing with pain for weeks, Davydenko finally got it checked out, with a scan showing a break. “It was very small and even the doctors didn't find it at first because they thought it was just a bruise,” said Davydenko, a French Open quarter-finalist a year ago. “I just kept playing with pain, taking pills or an injection."

Davydenko has been on court hitting in recent days, stepping up his pace of training after his long absence. “I've never trained as much as now. But I've always come back playing better after long breaks.”

Goat, can you explain why?? I have no idea about tennis and might tail. I know you usually play for .5 and 1 unit so 6 is a huge play for you.

It actually went ok. I took a bit of a punt on a few players that I wanted to force myself to watch and I ended up ahead a little with one match pending. The first round of these tourneys is always dicey - you can get great odds because the books completely over/undervalue some of the players especially if you can jump on right when the odds open before tennis gamblers have the chance to dump money on a side. But there's always some tanking going on with these schmoes so you never know exactly what will happen, especially with the lesser known players.
