I have Gil too... and not in a reformed kinda way.

Melzer, i dont know about him, but good luck... i parlayed Fed 2-0 w/Ferrer 2-0 at -130. I think i may be scratching for action on a favorite laden day. Hopefully we both win.

I have also played Ferrer/Troicki u/19. I see a beat down.

Any thoughts about that last one? I have played it anyway... but can always buy back :P

I backed Melzer with the handicap because the courts are going to be extremely slow today and the weather shithouse which goes against both of their playing styles. Fed has always been the UE king but now that his level of play has obviously dropped a few notches (still spectacular obviously), the UEs are highlighted more which I think will allow Melzer to get a few cheap points off of him. For all I know he'll come out and get smoked but with weather like this, I 'think' they'll both be struggling a bit.

As for the Ferrer under, I like it but again I'm not good with totals. It almost seems too easy and the fact that it's juiced is always a bit of a worry since from my unscientific observations, the juiced totals side tends to lose more than not. I wouldn't buy it back though.

i like melzer today, too. he is in great form, looked motivated and concentrated yesterday. i thought the handicap on him would be a little bit more, -5.5 @ 1.735 is not what i expected. will play the -5@2.06 and a very little bit on the ML

Yeah I had checked them out just to get a comparison. I don't know - it's kind of the same thing as yesterday with Raonic/Ferrer except the gulf isn't as wide here in these two matches in my opinion. It's honestly hard to say. Handicaps are usually a crapshoot at the best of times but I post them when I personally have given the dog a chance to win, albeit sometimes a very slim chance. The hook is important though either way as we saw in Gasquet yesterday.

I personally would still take both bets but I'd put less on Gil although I feel he can win it outright here. It's just hard when a player can lose a set 6-3 based on who's serving first. That's when you need the hook.

Collingwood are looking good too! 40 point lead at qtr time. c'mmoonnn! i cant see them not covering my spread from here. Makes me wonder why i bought it down... i'm more pleased because I told biggie to smash colllingwood -37/Ferrer 2-0 at -130 and i buried him yesterday on Raonic. He also took Berdcyh ML and in play on his own, so i felt bad for him. Hopefully he wins a decent chunk back.

Rather than a thread, i've decided to start a SS on my non-US bets. Will keep me disciplined.

Yeah you got lucky Troicki couldn't consolidate that break at the end but you need luck sometimes with totals.

Melzer with the break is making me very happy so far!

Edit to add: I'm also on Collingwood -47.5. Wasn't going to play it all but figured I may as well so I missed the better lines out there. Hopefully they can just smash the Tigers and make us all happy.

I'm so sorry Gee.

And yeah, you did miss something by not watching - even if Melzer goes on to lose. He's getting his form back after his injuries and coming up against someone so error prone as Fed, especially on clay, the match was going to be a lot closer than the odds suggested unless Fed whipped out the clay game of the year out today.

Still hope though for those who took Fed in a parlay.

Well I think he has a chance but like I said above, I don't recommend anyone tail me on the ML unless they do it for small like me.

Yeah I think you're right as well. Purely a fun bet that I put a flat 0.5 on just to keep it exciting for me.

Shouldn't have put it on my spreadsheet though as I don't want anyone to tail but hopefully no one jumped on in time.

And playing Nadal on clay in the wind is pretty insurmountable by anyone.

This wind+clay combo makes your bet on Gil a little weaker, wouldn't you say? This is exactly why I bet Nadal - great defense is worth more in conditions like this.

And I'm glad you jumped on Nadal. I'm just glad I flat staked half a unit on Ljubi instead of laying the juice with a unit. Yet again the juiced side will most likely lose. I need to start keeping track of this when it comes to handicaps and totals.
