Australian legislation prevents online live betting. (I have no idea why) We have to use foreign bookies to bet live on the net.

As much as I hate it, it's probably saved a lot of people a lot of cash in the long run, including myself, because we've been too lazy to call or missed the odds we wanted. One friend said it was to prevent people betting beyond their means in the spur of the moment. Not sure but I could see their point if that was the case. Still annoying at times though.

Careful of that match. Robredo is crap yes, but Fish played a long 5 setter in his 1st round, he fought hard from 2 sets down, it wouldve taken alot out of him.

I'm going to be in and out today because we're moving but for the early games I've played Monaco, Kubot, Kohl for a little and have put a bit on the Monaco/Haase over. Taking a bit of a chance on the dogs for smaller stakes. All of the first women's matches are unplayable for me as I think the favourites get it done.

from waht I have read Mardy Fish is having big medical problems and because of that he had a really tough match with Hanescu on previous round and had to play 5 sets in order to overcome the Romanian. This effort he had to put on his allready weakened body for sure made him even more weaker.
He is suspected to have mononucleosis and he stated that he has felt exhausted durring first round and I don't see him capable to put a decent fight against Robredo.
Worst case scenario will be for him to quit after one or two sets or if not to play with this problem and lose in 3 or 4 sets but from my point of wiew I don't think he will be able to preforme as his best.

Be careful with the Fish speculation guys. He also said this yesterday:

"Obviously being able to play 3½ hours probably means I don't have what he had. (he's talking about Roddick with mono). But a first-round match was something that I probably didn't think I was going to be able to do. It feels really good."

Don't play it based on if you think Fish is sick. If he's sick, he'll retire. My advice is to play it based on who you think will win or avoid the match altogether. There are more than enough other matches to spend your money on.

well it doesn't make much sense, considering most of us can get onto bet365 or bwin for live betting on almost everything. odds are hopeless though, as is expected for live betting. that is why we need betfair!

I've just parlayed the women's favs i like paying about $2.00. hope we don't see any epic bed sh!tting.

If you have a smartphone you can get around this problem. Use the Opera browser and it will work in Australia. The Opera browser sends all infomation first through servers in other parts of the world and then to the site.

I liked Fish, but stayed away just to see how he responded today with all the mono talk. He couldn't have asked for a better start. We'll see if his energy holds up for three sets or more though. If he makes it through today, I think he'd be safe to consider again if the match-up warrants. Good luck tonight Shari.

I liked him as well but skipped it. I just didn't see the point in putting my money on a match when you have no clue how he's going to pull up after Hanescu. On a normal day, he would blow Robredo off the court 9 out of 10 times and there was no way I was falling for the trap of backing the worse player in the hopes that the other one is sick. That rarely seems to work out well. I agree though, if he has the stamina for this one then it's time to just ignore the sickness speculation and just look at matches for what they are.

Sorry Bbr, somehow I missed this. I'm on Montanes so I can't really say much about Malisse. I think if Montanes keeps it tight and it goes past 3 sets Malisse is going to be in trouble. I'm on the Razzano over with you. I like that under although the line is so low, I probably won't play it. Mannarino - I think he's going to have a tough time against Gasquet. Gasquet's a headcase but for some reason he plays with the concentration of Fed when he's up against Gasquet. Maybe a play on the handicap would be worth it though. Sevastova - I've just added a play on her with the handicap as well. Wicky's apparently sick so although I think she still wins, Sevastova has a great shot at keeping it close. Apparently the books think so too because the 4.5 is heavily juiced.

doesn't seem to work for me :/ i have an iphone and: firstly, it won't let me log in to betfair. when you click "login" nothing happens.

secondly, when i check my IP (http://www.geobytes.com/IpLocator.htm) it says i'm in perth, australia (which is where I am).

any other work around or have they fixed the problem?? i've read about this and proxys before, but my undertsanding was betfair realizes pretty quick smart what you're doing as well...

Im not longer with Betfair so perhaps things have changed. Only suggestion i can give is to try and login using your phone providers internet rather than wireless home or work internet.

Also i was using a windows phone not iphone at the time and this was six months ago. Perhaps they have changed how opera works on the iphone as i just tried opera on my iphone with sportsbet and live betting did not work
