I think fever had some impact, but it would not have changed the outcome even if he was healthy. Davydenko simply has Nadals number and was on fire today. It is all in Nadals head I believe and he blames his performance on his health. We will see.

I just can't help comparing the physicality of the two players. A 'huge spaniard' vs a 'tiny russian'. Nikolay has done what so many 6"2' big muscular bodies failed to.

i just did some research on these two, kvitova is undefeated against petkovic on hard court, they have never gone to 3 sets against each other. head 2 head series is 2-2.

Again. Different surface. Four surfaces in tennis: indoor hard, hard, grass, clay. Grabbing stats from a different surface won't help you. But best of luck with your bets!

She either did something to her lower back or damaged a muscle around her waist. She started grabbing her lower right side and massaging it between points and at one point she was hunched over on the court. Well done. I was tempted at @2.50 but hadn't seen enough of the match to really know how the were playing. I always find when i act on impulse to recoup a loss (Petkovic), i more than often just make it worse. To all those pointing to arguably Kvitova's better record over Pet - on the strength of yesterday's and previous games Pet was dominant in her wins and Kvitova more than just a little erratic. Pet was the right play for mine, but today Kvitova just kept finding her lines and came up trumps. Both could go deep at the Aussie if they have friendly draws.

Pretty interesting that Nadal has decided to stay on in Doha a few more days because he's worried the plane ride here will make him even more ill. I remember a few people speculating if he was over-exaggerating his illness but I think it's legit.
