Kush can definitely win or at least I hope so since I took him at +122 earlier today.

Hard to tell what the ninja factor here will be but considering he's from Kazakhstan, he should at least have the crowd on his side.

I personally think it's a combination of things - the majority of them don't have the power to consistently get it over the net at the speed they're going for, their mechanics aren't always great and yeah, some of them just choke. When you look at a player like Demented you can safely say she's one of, if not the best, women's returner out there but when she's serving you can expect DFs galore. Fortunately the top players have found a way to make the most of their 2nd serve and their return game to compensate for it.

this is what i do when I don't have lots of MLB or NBA - i start paying attention to tennis. its been good so far, but the bottom will fall out soon enough.

I think she's worth a crack too. Not for big stakes but it's always wise to fade Jankovic lately and then just chase if you need to. Especially since she said she's only using this tournament to practice.

Hey Wiz - I'm not PMing anyone my picks, still just posting them. Some of my ones the past couple of days I mentioned in here and in other tennis threads - I just didn't post them as I normally do. Was going to post a few more today but there really isn't anything left that I like. Liked Troicki until his price moved down so much and now I'm just going to stay away. The other matches left aren't really worth my cash as I don't really see any upsets happening but I'm not willing to lay any chalk. Best of luck with your bets!

If your mentor only focused on consistently beating the closing number in tennis he'd have his ass handed to him. I've documented it countless times in here where I've placed a bet, the price moves in my favour and my player gets smoked. There are just too many variables in tennis and too many uneducated bettors who bet this sport, especially the smaller tournaments. In some of the lesser known matches relatively small bets can cause a price to drop and so many people just dump cash on name players because there's nothing else on the board at that time of day. That's one of the main reasons I stick to dogs or very small favourites. I just sit back and let people throw money at short-priced favourites and watch the price rise on a player to the point that their price then overtakes the % chance I assigned to them winning. Sometimes I miss out on winners by choosing not to bet when the price has dropped too much - like Troicki today - but I feel okay about that because it's saved me a lot of money in the long run and has helped me to do somewhat decently in tennis compared to other sports.

Dushevina played solidly against Vesnina and can handle Chaka's serve while her own serve was strong in the Vesnina match. The H2H favours Chaka but Dushevina likes this surface so that may cancel the H2H out. I think the odds are pretty fair for this one right now and I really don't see an edge here as far as the lines go. If I was betting this one, I'd probably take her but since they're 2 Russians playing in Moscow I'll continue to stay away. Best of luck!
