How about Elena blasting Serena off the court like that, man? Coming off a win vs Radwanska, who I simply adore but obviously she lacks power but is so consistent a player from the baseline, and now Elena follows up with a DOMINANT victory of Serena Williams.
Worth a shot in the slam at 14-1? She's like the Dan Marino of womens tennis, best player to never win a slam. Womens tennis isn't THAT competitive, to where she can't win a slam if she's on which she certainly seems to be as of late.

Interesting pick on Nieminen - he's one of those ultra solid pros who can really frustrate a more inconistent player like Nalbandian. Fat Dave leads the H2H 6-4, and they've had some stonking battles over the years (I remember the 5 setter at the 2003 US Open, went on forever). However, two of Nalby's wins were on clay where he's clearly several levels of class above - on hard court it's 4-4. That's a seriously impressive record for Nieminen, as even Federer is only 10-8 vs Nalby.
Have you seen Nieminen play recently? Wrong time of the day for me, matches start at 3am - I'll do some all nighters for the Aus Open, but not for little ones like Sydney :-) Obviously the Djokovic result is about as good as it gets for him, but he had a strange match against Tsonga in Brisbane: 6-0 first set, then two tiebreak wins for Tsonga.
However, Nalby appears to be in form also - the Gasquet win was a very solid result. As one of the best returners on the tour, you can imagine him neutralising Nieminen's serve - if that happens then it'll be extremely one sided, as per their last match in Stockholm (6-1 6-2). On the other hand, if Nalby isn't properly motivated (the event being essentially just training for the Aus Open), you can see tiebreaks.
By the way, Bodog have +300 if you have an account there. Think I'll skip without having seen Nalby play this tournament, but looks a solid pick from what I can tell.Comment -
