I am not sure i withdrawing funds via ATM cannot be linked with you. There is data kept for every transaction and when cumulative transactions are recorded, the bank may be start looking where those transactions are coming from. I am not sure about that, but i think that ATM withdrawals are somehow linked to you.

There are a couple of major reasons as to why, though personal reasons may vary depending on the individual. The most obvious reason is a lot of people that use coinbase and circle regularly get banned for making gambling transactions which violate their TOS. So that most likely won't be an option for most people in the future after they crackdown on you. A second reason is the card is independent of your bank accounts, it operates the same way as any other prepaid/reloadable debit card. Some people don't like having their bank accounts tied to exchanges which are tied to gambling. The third reason is price/fees. If you navigate the BTC card correctly you get your money at spot price and don't have any fees like you do transferring at exchanges, using a BTC ATM or otherwise selling in person such as on localbitcoins. As someone else already mentioned in an earlier post it's probably the quickest way to get your money also. So there are many reasons why people like this option.

Yes they are. You have to give ID info to get the card.

Any legitimate, licensed method of transferring bitcoin to fiat currency is going to meet anti money laundering laws.

I'm not really sure how this card can be 100% legit, with the way it works, but the institution issuing them has to meet those laws to give them out.

Just got my bitpay card today. Am I understanding this that you have to 'Add Funds' on the card to get a Bitcoin address, and then you send that address those funds from your wallet?

I never said it was anonymous, I stated that it's not linked to your bank accounts like if you used circle/coinbase. Big difference. If you're looking for anonymity, this isn't the option for you. My point is you can have your regular traditional bank accounts such as checking/savings at whatever bank in America and your funds are independent of this bitpay card which is a separate entity. If you run your BTC through circle/coinbase into your traditional bank checking account, now all your funds are tied together. Some people don't like that for various reasons. I think the bitpay card is a great option even though it's not anonymous.

Yes. Small amounts under 100 seem to be instant. Larger amounts they wait for confirmations. At least was my experience.

I like cashing out to BitPay card for TWO reasons. 1. It's cash from an offshore sports book to my hands in less than an hour and put $3,000. 2. My checking account linked to exchanges no longer asking me questions.

I was in the first batch of cards to go out. I've had my card for months. Coming from someone who had the neteller card back in the day and thought I was a boss. This CARD BLOWS IT AWAY!!! simply the best thing that came to gambling in years. I have taken out over 25K from atm's with this already. It's crazy I keep thinking they are going to shut me down but they don't.

Thanks for all the great input on this thread. Ordered my card today. This method is far more agreeable to me than the Circle/Coinbase-> Checking route which Ive used 3 (2Coin, 1Circle) times in past 3 weeks for payouts. Hopefully this wont get shutdown before the end of football season :| Fingers crossed

you can depodit cash onto the card via ********, however you cant transfer that cash into bitcoin directly on card

Do you guys live on the West Coast that are still waiting on your cards? The reason I ask is cause I ordered mine a couple weeks back on a Tuesday and got my card the following week on Thursday. So that was 8 business days. The Card is mailed from a Georgia address. Idk maybe they got slammed with orders for football season or it just takes longer to arrive the farther you live from Georgia. I would say if it's been longer than 12 business days you need to get on their ass about it.

Any changes to how this card has been operating is a good reason to take extra care and ensure that you do not leave a large cash balance sitting on this thing.

As great as it is, there is a good chance it will go boom eventually and any balance on there at the time could be lost.
