Received my card on Saturday, used it yesterday. Deposited $1000 into the card and made withdrawals from 2 different banks wit no problems. Just like using my debit card. Hope this never goes away.

#177For those who have deposited bitcoin onto the card, what have you noticed in terms of exchange rates? If you have lets say 5k in blockchain at the time of transaction, what ends up on the card? The prices can fluctuate so drastically from one site to another due to current volatility so curious what everyones experience has been like on this.Comment -

#178Originally posted by themike78It doesn't. All funds on card are in U.S dollars. Whenever you put money on card they go by what the bitcoin rate is at the time. But once it's on card it just stays as dollars.Comment -

#182Originally posted by Ghenghis Kahnwell i got the card today and it works fine. but the atm fee is $3.00 and $2.00 for bitpay so total $5.00. not bad but if you want to withdraw more than $750. it's gonna cost you another $5. it's a good backup to have for those emergency situations though.
also, when you withdraw, use the checking option. i kept picking credit card and it kept denying my transaction.
Just bumping this post.
I'm curious if anyone else has tried to use other ATM's in your area etc.
Could you post your amounts and your fees that you were charged?
Just trying to keep track of this info etc.
Seems like the highest is $750 + $5 fee.
Is this the best rate so far?Comment -

#186Question on this Bitpay card.
Ok... so I accessed the bitpay log in page. Went to send bitcoin. Typed in $637.20 and it gave me the bitcoin address to send it to and the BTC amount was 0.987876
I got a confirmation email saying my card was loaded:
USD: $637.20
BTC: 0.987876
Exchange Rate: $645.02
Transaction Time: 2:54 PM Eastern
My question is... did I just get robbed on this transaction? How come the exchange rate was $645.02 but they only credit my card with $637.20
What did I do wrong here? Any advice?Comment -

It's competitive, but looks to be on the low side compared to exchanges. At the moment it's only a couple bucks off but was looking the other day and it was $5-$10 per bitcoin.

So it evens out after a deposit/withdrawal cycle at a sportsbook.
It's not right to call it 'off' though. There is no 'correct' price but this is better than trying to quote a specific exchange's rate moment to moment as that can be way off the market average at times..Comment -

#195Do you send directly from book to card or book to blockchain to card? Timeframe it takes to receive bitcoins to the card?

#197Heritage to Blockchain to card. All within an hour. $5 fee for withdrawal from ATM. $1100 total. Hope this last for a year or two. At least through football season would be nice. Nothing like cashing out from book and having cash in hand same day.Comment -

#199I went to bitpay and it asked for my organization name? Do I have to sign up through bitpay or do I just click on the debit card link and sign up for the debit card without a bitpay account? Or if I need a bitpay account before getting a bitpay debit card what do I put for organization name?? ThanksComment -

Come again ?
Make sure you find the link to click on the "Card" it's at the bottom of the main page. All the way at the bottom.
Then it takes you to the page... "Order Card" which should be very top right of the page. Then follow the steps.
There is a fee to order the card and once you receive the card in the mail.... register your card... and then you can sign in.Comment -
