MAY 28th: [MLS] FC DALLAS PK +130
Tempted to go with the larger value on the moneyline at over +200 for Dallas, but will go a little safer with the PK. FC Dallas is in the middle of a club record streak as they have not allowed a goal now in five straight matches. They are also on a seven match unbeaten streak. They are on the road against bitter rivals Houston as the Dynamo really struggle. Houston has gone five straight without recording a win. At home, they have struggled defensively of late and have just one clean sheet in six home matches. Both sides are struggling with consistency on offense - Dallas due to injury of their best player and Houston, just because of inconsistency. With that being said, Dallas' superior defense will make it possible for a single goal to stand up as a winner here and it is difficult in the midst of this run to see them not at least working a draw.

Another big bowl of suck on an over try. Have no clue how Mexico did not score more than one goal. So many chances and one disallowed apparently for offsides although they never showed a replay. 1-1 with time running out.

Goalllllllllll! FC Dallas 1-0. Sweet goal. Guy hit the crossbar and the rebound went right to a teammate who headed it in. Unfortunately one of FCD's strikers appeared to hurt himself on the shot. Hopefully he can get back on the pitch. One of their great speed guys.

Portland is 5-0 at home. DC United has lost three of four on the road. United's defense has been poor in those matches with ten goals allowed on the road. They will be missing Charlie Davies tonight who has scored six for United. The Timbers also have three straight clean sheets at home. Looking for their home form to continue.

I usually try to stick with a couple teams and wager only on their matches. FC Dallas is one I usually follow because I've had some success with them and it's near where I live. Portland was one I started following this season early because of their success. I had been using them for overs early, but had not used them for that lately because of improved defense.

JUNE 1st: [FRIENDLY] NIGERIA-ARGENTINA OVER 2.5 [-105]
This is a highly anticipated "friendly" match between two teams who met in the World Cup last year with different personnel. Argentina won't have the big names like Messi, but their current squad is plenty full of offensive weapons. That has been shown with six goals in their last two friendlies. They have also conceded two goals in each against Ecuador & Paraguay. Playing at home, expecting the Nigerians to want to put on a show. That should mean showing some flash, which could lead to mistakes & Argentian breakouts on the Nigerian goal. Both teams are using this as heavy training for upcoming competitions. Argentina for the Copa America. Nigeria for the Africa Cup of Nations which starts next weekend. It will be especially worthwhile for Nigeria who have not laced up their boots since March.

3-0. Nigeria is relentless today. Another good looking attack and goal. Wish I would have taken them on the ML too. Thought about it, but really thought Argentina would keep it close and maybe draw. In any case, we're home!

Checking on Chivas-Vancouver tonight in MLS ... got some thoughts.

Vancouver shit canned their manager this past week, so the Whitecaps head to Chivas with a new man in charge. In spite of their poor record with just one win, five losses and six draws - Vancouver has been fairly competitive most matches. They lack great finishing touch on the road where they have scored just twice and allowed seven goals in five matches. Chivas have five goals scored and five conceded in five home matches. There should be some optimism for Vancouver though as Chivas is probably the hardest hit team with injuries and Gold Cup/Copa America absentees as they will be missing first-choice forwards Alejandro Moreno and Marcos Mondaini, starting midfielders Simon Elliott and Jorge Flores, plus defender Andy Boyens. Chivas has just one home win this season and with their absentees and the Whitecaps keen to impress I think with their coach fired, I do believe they at least snake a draw tonight.
