A match-up of defense vs. scoring here. ULC was the only team that Catolica lost to on the road this season, a 2-1 decision. ULC home matches this past session have seen totals to two or less in seven of nine. Overall, ULC has played nine straight matches to two goal or smaller totals. Catolica saw just two of nine road tilts go under three goals. Difference here is this is a two-legged semifinal tie for a spot in the finals. That means potentially less fireworks as Catolica looks for that away goal & ULC tries its best to keep a clean sheet and then go and steal one on the road next time.

If it was in Finland, I'd bang it. At home, San Marino has held a lot of teams to right around three goals. I know Finland blasted them 8-0 at home ... but it's kinda iffy to me. I think 4-0 might be the best shot for Finland, but 3-0 is also a possibility. Tough call. I'm still looking, got a couple in mind.

Romania need a win today to keep any hope of qualifying alive, while Bosnia is in pretty good shape right now with one less match played than Belarus & Albania who stand one point ahead of Bosnia with 8. France leads the group with 12 points. The 1st meeting in March ended 2-1 in Bosnia's favor at home as they rallied from an 0-1 deficit. Both these teams have shown a propensity for giving up goals, but also have enough finishing quality I think to take advantage. With Romania pressed for a win, I think they will be pushing forward and any mistakes they make should be punished by Bosnia. Bosnia could be happy with a draw, but also would not be averse to nailing down three points today and pushing into 2nd place possibly.

Oh shit, forgot Ricketts also is on international duty. So no regular goalie for LA either. Even with the absentees, LA has a tough defense. DC +1 is where I am leaning right now.

As outlined earlier, the Galaxy will be missing Landon Donovan and goalie Donovan Ricketts. United could welcome back their top scorer, Charlie Davies, for this one and come in off an impressive road showing in a win over Portland. Against a Galaxy squad that is struggling for goals with Donovan and relying on its defense and goal tending, their two big absences tonight could make a massive difference. Taking United +1 here as I think they will play well again and not lose by more than one goal.
