Expect a close game here and wouldn't be surprised to see a 0-0 draw. Yes both teams have very good attacking options but France came out of a qualifying campaign unsure of themselves, and scored just ONE goal in Euro 2008.
Uruguay will have to be careful not play too open, which is what they did against Israel in a friendly i watched not too long ago.

Biggest bet of the opening days and i personally am most worried about USA throwing a spanner in the works. Cannot see the Aussies doing much tp stop Germany winning this group. USA friggin worry me, or should i say England to get the win.

Greece DNB vs South Korea @ 1.875 for 2 Units Loss

Otto Rehagel has talked much of them going back to their 2004 setup, and if they do that successfully they'll win this game 1-0 in the 70th minute like they did 6 years ago. Still have credibility up front and the team spirit that will keep them playing smart football.

Serbia -0.25 Vs Ghana @ 1.825 for 2 Units

Ghana look strong but no Essien is a big blow and Serbia have more strength to win this. Taking -0.25 for a bit of safety this early in the tourney.

Day 2 was bad, just bumping the Sunday picks.

Discussing with Wil whether to have a straight bet on Germany also

Guys look into Chile and Paraguay, IMO they have the most value/certainty for the 1st round of games. I barely bet the 1st round just looking at teams mostly but we are yet to see most of the teams who are going to highlight this WC.

Honduras without Palacios and Suazo most likely (Chile -1), Italy without Pirlo and De Rossi coming in from injury (Paraguay PK).

Ok gents, Wilforth hasn't been online to discuss any extra plays for today so i'll just have to make some and have them as my plays, and not the threads plays.

Slovenia ML @ 6/5 for 2 units

Serbia ML @ 11/10 for 2 units

Germany -1 @ 11/10 for 4 Units

And:

Slovenia/Serbia/Germany DNB Treble @ 1.61 for 6 units

There is a clear difference between the 3 teams i have bet on and their opponents. Slovenia come into this pumped up and RockyS has been a great help to the forum letting us know about the team.
Serbia look so solid at the back they should make Asamoah look like Emile Heskey when it comes to scoring goals.

I can't even find a weakness for Germany. I fully expect Klose to regain the form that has him within 5 goals of the World Cup all time scorer - Ronaldo and today we should see some overs with Germany and Serbia scoring at least 2 each.

Yeah i saw the movement. Hopefully it means nothing but every time i see noticeable movement, it's always against me and it always proves correct

Smogs, as I told Bankroll, I really wouldn't be that concerned about the line movement and I'm on Australia

I'm 90% convinced it's homers - it's now 9pm here on a long weekend. The match is on at 4am for us. People will be dumping their money on before heading out for a big night and won't be in any shape to do it online at 4am. Plus you can bet at a lot of pubs here. Mix in a nation of hardcore gamblers, alcohol, Australia's playing and it's a long weekend, and that will more than likely explain the line movement. Best of luck today!!

yup. shari nailed it. the socceroos carry heavy expectations - perhaps unrealistic ones at that.

australia plays a sound game... slightly impotent in attack, but quite solid in defence and they don't usually haemorrhage goals. but this is the big time, and i can see germany winning 2-0.

but even a loss won't dampen the spirits in the land of the long week-end, as we honour the queen's birthday.

Do not overreacted, Slovenia and Serbia are not the big favourites and I knew it. Slovenians got a luck but they most likely gonna lose next two games as well as Australia (after losing their best player Tim Cahill)

I'm away in the morning so thought i'd get these in with plenty of time to spare. I've been talking to Mihaita as well as Wilforth and we all agree this is a bet worth taking on. Me and wil haven't set a unit size but since i'm out in the morning i'm just going to throw this out there and see how much wil wants to add himself, to divide into the separate threads.

I am fully aware that robben is out, but the quality of this Dutch side cannot be dismissed. Van der Vaart should take his place and whilst Holland lose the pace of Robben, they do improve in creativity and passing the ball. Denmark's style will mean a lot of emphasis is put on wing play and counter attack, but Holland should be able to cope with Van Bommel and De Jong.

The line is dropping which is a good thing, but there's a lot of money on the Dutch, so this is not a sharp play at all.
