position players hurt. called up daniel mccutchen from aaa today. pen should be ok, used aaa guys last night they were sent back down. they r 4-0 in xtras this year.

This guy is a scrub the Padres are throwing out here. It helps a lot he gets to start off with Clint to start the inning with a very probable out.

Unreal. How is this guy in the majors?

The guy has a .518 OPS against right handed pitchers and has 270 at bats this year against right handed pitchers.

There has to be 500 players somewhere in the minors who could hit significantly better than this guy... go find one, jesus christ.

A .518 OPS is slightly above average... for a pitcher. Why the hell haven't you guys benched him yet? No doubt there is a guy who could post a .650 OPS in the minors.

great question. hard to question hurdle buttt he started correia yesterday after he pitched the day before. both aaa guys woulda been good options.

it was actually his first appearance in 2012 and honestly he sucked before thatin 2011 im baffled. maybe it was rigged like canuck said.

chis right. team is smoke and mirrors, however they are playing meaningful baseball when most teams seasons are over already. they also are headed in the right direction. every year my goal is to get to football season with em, and they always fall short, they finally have made it this time after getting close last season.

yeah as a Pirate fan, last year and this year were/are BONUS time...

reality based and informed fans know that the window for WS contending was supposed to open about 2014....

but after witnessing them hang this long in 2012, and having Cole and Tallion in Altoona (5 shut out innings in AA debut last night)

I guess the window could open next year. Lots of Prospects coming down the pipe

2013 is somewhat realistic. its been fun watching them pull rabbits outa the hat for 120+ games though. plus ive bet their season wins over last 2 years (big last year) so that makes it better.

yeah seeing as how the pre season over/under was 73.5

I think this season already is a success, the rest is just the whipped cream...

I keep watching that West Virginia team's box scores and even with Josh Bell on the DL, there are 5-6 studs on that team alone...

bunch of solid players throughout the system to go along with the Studs like heredia, Cole, Tallion
