being scammed by betcris. any hope?

I took out an account a little over a week ago and have had pretty good luck. Lately, however, they have taken to deleting my racebook winnings claiming they were after post. Cast in point, I had some bets on Evangaline Downs and noticed that the race was still listed as under post. I immediately contacted to let them know this was happening and they still deleted my winnings of over 8k. They have also deleted 10k in winnings and some smaller winnings of $600 and $120. I have repeatedly told them their postime listed is often off the actual racetime by 5-7 minutes(in reference to the 8k scam) but they do nothing about it. Just an hour ago they took away my $120 win but were more than happy to take the next race I lost on. Can I do anything with this company? thanks

I guess I sorta am but I just want justice or some advise on who to talk to. I know we take a risk using sportsbooks but I did check out betcris and saw one rating of C and one rating of A+. I do not know if I am being scammed or their website is running poorly but either way I need help with them.

Picky horse racing software is very average at best at offshore sportsbooks so many times races still available after post.

I advise you to bet at a place like Pinnacle or VIP with software more accurate

I strongly advise you to play at usa shops for horses also

I have used vipsports/horses before but did not like the site. To tell you the truth I get tons of offers in the mail every day and chose betcris because, emm, I thought their virtual horse racing game was cool. I cannot complain too much because this week I turned a $25 bet into around 11k but still got scammed out of 18k+. I was the one warning them their software was lagging and if I kept my mouth shut I probably would have gotten the money. Once again if anyone has a good number for them or can tell me if they have any base in the US please let me know. thanks

I use youbet on occassion and I like their site. Since they are in Cali it can sometimes take up to 2 weeks to get a check though. I would rather have my money in a place that allows to me bet on horses and football which I love. I will definately bookmark this site and wait for Bill. Does he work for betcris or have contacts? I only found this forum when i put betcris complaints in the 'ask jeeves' forum.

nope I made all my bets legitimately. I have been betting for around 19 years now. The worst part is during the hour last night that they took away my 8k winnings they were more than happy to keep my almost 3k in losings. I found that particularly bad. All they had to do was check out my ticket times to see I was not past post. When I tried livechat it kept hooking up to the same guy so they are aware of my complaint but hey it is not like I can run down to the local courthouse and sue them.

As far as your question of, "any hope?" I would say there is good reason to hope that this will be worked out fairly. CRIS is a very good, cooperative shop and Bill, the guy here at SBR, is a top mediator.

I would think all your transactions would be recorded and time stamped - and post times should also be verifiable - so everything should be open to investigation.

Several years ago after War Emblem won the Kentucky Derby, I placed a bet ($50) on that horse several days before the Preakness at listed odds of 20-1 ... The odds seemed generous ... The book was Playerstime ... They don't do horse racing but do offer bets on major races occasionally and payoff on their posted book line even if it varies from actual track odds .. You can make out or get screwed on that ... The horse won and I was credited the $ ... An hour later it disappeared, original bet included.

When I called they told me a mistake was made in posting the line on that horse, despite the line being posted several days ... The horse winning screwed things up for them ... So their solution was to cancel the bets and keep the original bets along with it ... That appears to be an industry wide solution ... They make a mistake and you pay for it ... The solution takes care of itself if the horse loses ... Funny how that works ... Well anyway, after a weeks worth of haggling they credited me with what the horse paid at the track which was about 3-1 I think ... No longer with them ... The Fox

I personally think you are somehow cheating the system. Either guilt or the possibility of getting caught encouraged you to notify them of their software flaws and now you are pissed at them not paying you for their own mistakes.

I don't see how even the luckiest guy can turn $25 into $11K (+$18K = $29K) in just one week.

If you are so good at this, you can go anywhere and multiple that 11K in no time so you have nothing to worry about.

But of course, I don't think you are legit therefore I would just take my 11K and spend it on something else. Your problem is that you got too greedy; if you are going to cheat a system the key is moderation.

I have replied to your email asking for your time stamped ticket numbers and the time you believe the race came off the board and/or the time the race was scheduled to go off.

Your wagers have been canceled due to past-posting. If you can pass along these details we will be able to break down what took place.

As you may know, racing is different than sports in that the official start times of the races are reported from the tracks with the results.

I only saved the one track Bill but I will get them out to you. No I did not cheat the system. Why is it if you have a complaint then you are automatically the bad guy. why would I place wagers 30 minutes before the race went off? That is ridiculous. anyone who does horse betting knows one of the most important factors to look at is late betting. If you have a M/L horse at 15-1 and he is either bet late or bet even early down to say 3-1 then obviously the owner/trainer/jockey/someone knows that he is good this week. Only a complete moron would bet before the initial odds even pop. BTW, my job in rl is a volunteer consumer advocate. I help people getting scammed by companies and especially credit bureaus, collection agencys, and creditors. I do not do the scamming so keep your insults to yourself.

Most $$$ on horse races is bet in the last 2 min. before post ... In my case (above) I bet on a horse that was listed at 20-1 ... I knew that the horse was going to go off in the 3-5 to 1 range ... Does this make me a bad guy or scammer if I placed a bet??? ... Or should I have called them and requested 3-1? ... Bottom line is they should pay off whatever the horse paid at the track ... A sub bottom line is, if the horse doesn't win, you don't collect whatever the listed odds are ... You would never hear from in that case ... Hi Picantel,

My last post to you was made in an effort to gather all relevant information. SBR does not pass judgment until speaking to all parties regardless of the tone of the complaint.

Your fellow posters may see initial comments differently when the player uses words like "scammed" and does not include a given response from the book in question.

I have spoken with CRIS' race manager and he has offered to go over each play with you. The two races taken from you yesterday show as being 3 minutes past-posted using DRF results. Mgt. also noted losses that you were credited for when your bets were placed post start time.

Please contact Bob at 1-800-329-6333 or email your disputed plays to horses@betcris.com (or me). He states that he would like a chance to address each race in question.

I would also appreciate a list of races that you feel were entered before post time so that I may compare start times with your betting slips.

Bill- the losses in question they were talking about were included in the winning tickets. For example, let us say I do a $50 perfect 1/2-3. let us say the race comes in 1-3/ Sure they deleted the winnings and the losings also because they have to delete the winning ticket. I did not place my bets 3 minutes after the race. That is absolutely ridiculous. As for the other races, I only wrote down those 2 tickets because after I called I kinda got the feeling it would happen. If they keep good records they can always find the other 3 races they deleted.

Betting horses is silly with offshore sportsbooks if you bet a minute before the start or so as they have very bad technology

You were asking for trouble by doing this
