The way I see it, this country's in the crapper not because of bad politicians, but because Americans have largely become crappy people in general. That's not going to change short of some catastrophe. So if I can at least use my vote to stop the killing of innocent lives, then some good will have been accomplished. For the record, I do have a passport and I'm all set to head back to Portugal when the opportunities to exploit the American economy dry up.

Thanks Reno, and I can totally live with the fact that other people don't find my positions to be moral or just. I simply wanted to voice my opinion because it seems to me that no one has the monopoly on perfect choices. We're all just making the best choice we can based on our individual priorities. My priorities aren't perfect, they're not even awesome, they're just what's important to me. I wanted to expose the fact that there are no conservatives or liberals or libertarians. We're all just rolling the dice on people we don't even know well, based on what we have to realize are the lies they're spreading to get elected.

And thank you, losturmarbles, there are few things that I enjoy more than saying something that actually motivates another person to tip their hat to me. I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

My issues with Obama started and ended with his longtime "church pastor". A church he would still be attending today if he weren't running for president. A church that preaches hate of Americans, not the love of Jesus.

Our foreign policy has nothing to do with our society as a whole. Our current foreign policy, the "Bush Doctrine", is to kick ass whenever it's profitable for the private sector.

The average American is a total sheep, taking as little interest in world affairs as possible, and hating on anyone who disagrees with them. If our Founding Fathers were to come back to life and hang out with us, they wouldn't even recognize the country they worked so hard to create. Americans are sheep and will continue to be sheep until things get so bad that we have another generation of Founding Fathers to lead us in throwing off the shackles of iniquity.
