Demonstrate how this team is "older". I'm comparing the 2007 versus the 2011 roster, and it's about equal as far as age. If anything, I'll take a 28 year old Marcus McNeil over a 24 year old Marcus McNeil. The offensive line is closer to their prime in 2011 than in 2007 and I'd say the same about the offense in general. Same with defense, they've aged at some positions but also consistently added younger talent. There's nothing unusual about this team's age. If you want to see an aging team, look at the Steelers but they seem to be doing just fine. Age can be overrated and you are overplaying this aspect if you think there's anything to your "older" argument.
As for the injury list, it's not groundbreaking. All teams have injuries at this point in the season. How about the Packers with their All Pro Safety Nick Collins on IR as well as LT Chad Clifton on IR as well as many other injuries. Injuries can be overplayed, which I think you're doing here. Most of the Chargers injured players look to be ready to go by game time.
