The Bears play a god damned cover 2 base, of course they're going to give up chunks of yardage.

#76I agree with you mostly, BUT in this case, the one strength that the Bears have (Forte) matches up well with the one weakness the Lions have (allowing 4.8 yards per rush). Yes, the Lions defensive line is great, but they are all pass-rushers mostly so I can see the Bears shortening the game by sustaining drives with Forte, thus keeping the beast that is Calvin Johnson off the field. Maybe most importantly, the pig-headed Martz showed a willingness to run the ball last week.Originally posted by bobbyk1133Underrated how? Because Forte is running for a contract? Games are won and lost on the lines and CHI rank near the bottom on both sides of the ball. They are average in the red zone offense and defense, can't sustain drives, control the clock, or get consistent stops. This team is complete garbage.
Edit: Forgot to mention DET have a big edge in the air in this matchup too-offensively and defensively.Comment -

You think that formula is going to work with Hansen kicking in a dome? How often do you think they will get huge plays in the punt return game when your defense can't stop anybody from driving the field?

#8529 pts, 24 first downs, 543 yds, 374 passing yds, 169 rushing yds. Yeah, my bad, the panthers didn't go up and down the field all game. And yeah I've been hearing about the bend, but don't break bullshit since Rivera left too. I'm just surprised people buy into it.

#97Forte is the only hope CHI have in keeping this game close, but even with all his success last week they still couldn't put a drive together for a TD. I don't fear CHI driving down the field for a backdoor cover because they haven't proved they can drive the field for points going back to last year. They also haven't faced a D-line like DET's yet and you can only run so many times...especially if they get down. I'm not saying DET is a lock to cover, but they own all the mismatches and they're playing at home in prime-time. I see no reason to jump off the bandwagon in this spot...Originally posted by LT ProfitsI agree with you mostly, BUT in this case, the one strength that the Bears have (Forte) matches up well with the one weakness the Lions have (allowing 4.8 yards per rush). #100As to you, my level headed friend. All I'm saying is if you're happy with what Cutler goes out and does every game and you think he lays it all on the line then good. That's all you can ask as a fan. But as someone completely unbiased when it comes to the Bears, I don't see how you could think that. I respect Cutler's talent but I would take many many QB's in this league over him. I also will never understand trading for him. The Bears as long as they have their D, special teams, and a good run game don't need then gun slinger mentality at QB.Originally posted by zsrIm a bears fan and i would obviously rather have stafford. But you have to remeber stafford is playing with the best wr in the game, cutler is playing with punt returners.
Also my no means am I saying the Bears suck. Forte is one of my favorite players in the league and I have watched Julius Peppers play since his high school days. I have nothing against the bears.Comment -
