ofcourse its a bad idea. they already back tracked for the ryder cup, why do it again? why can't it start fresh at some point?

or you'd prefer let the people that won/finished high in sbr's 1st big tourney have bye's into every new major tournament sbr promotes?

wrong Rudy, to be elegible for the Ryder Cup players went to a strong qualifiying schedule,everybody who had qualified for the Ryder Cup Team has highly deserved it, especially the USA Team players had to go to a strong competition before beeing a member of the Ryder Cup Team

i bitched about the stupidity of this before the "ryder cup" too.

nothing against sinmiedo, but he is basically locked up for every future sbr tournament as well.

guys from the US had way more points than people from world or europe but didnt get on a team and those people on those teams get massive point advantages due to playing in the ryder cup.

as for the regular qualifiers, not all of us have a debt of 8k points and need/want to play every day if it appears no qualifying is going on.

wrong roxy, the tournament was announced halfway through qualifying and previous results were used..most americans had no shot of trying to qualify

correct

it was not announced early on.

i know i won a early event that qualified me for what i was trying to get into and messed around after that until i found out it meant something going forward.

Should only use the standard tourneys that have been played recently.

Rudy, if you WIN 10 tournaments in a row you still won't be in the top 20.

The top 100-200-500-152158487 are all based on one thing - SBR Poker Tournaments.

You can argue that you would've turned into Phil Ivey had you known one day your finishes would've mattered, but at the end of the day, you play to win. I don't think any of the squeaky wheels had a shot at the top 10, anyway.

We can have other formats. But this one is for the top 100 point winners in tournament play. Some won a couple of big ones and some grinded it out. The guy that beats this elite field walks away with a major SBR championship and 10,000 points. Gonna be fun.

in case of some primate dont understand: this is a reward for the elite of the SBR poker players,all TOP 100 players worked their way through the leaderboard and fought hard, and now SBR is looking to crown the 2011 Champion, whats wrong with it?

Well, not entirely true, the 9th spot on each team was awarded to players based on number of posts(lifetime) and not on points won during the qualifying period.

Actually they had the highest amount of points won outside of the qualifiers. So they were players and long time posters. Plus you are talking about 4 guys and only one in the winning group. Some micro surgery hair splitting for a tourney with 100 guys. Plus, there is over a month to qualify.
