#49Mike Matusow Eliminated in 30th Place ($193,000)
And this one is gonna hurt for awhile. Paul Snead raised to 200,000 and Mike Matusow reraised to 660,000 from the big blind. Snead called, and they saw a Ad,As,5h flop. Both players checked, and when the 9h came on the turn Matusow bet 500,000. Snead moved all in, Matusow called, and that's when Mike learned that his AhJs had been overtaken by Snead's Ac9c The Kc came on the river, and with that Mike Matusow's run in the Main Event came to an end.Comment -

#57What's he doing reraising with AJ offsuit anyway? I muck that hand to a raise often. He got his money in behind. It was a horrible play if you ask me. AK, AQ, A9, A5, 55, and 99 all beat him at that point. About the only raising hand that he could beat on the turn is AT. I can't imagine what hand he put the guy on there unless he thought he had KK or QQ, but that makes his preflop reraise even more suspect...Comment -

#58Maybe a weak ace?Not sure how he could put him on a weak ace after calling the reraise though. Puzzling.

#61Not sure how a pro doesn't put his opponent on a hand. I guess its an example of why he usually ends up broke in cash games after a big tourney cash...Comment -

#62All Ins come down to luck period, Mike is a solid player. He was one of rare pros left and he has down well in this even through the years. Mike is a better tourney player vs cash.Comment -

He had a monster and wasn't disciplined enough to fold it. He probably rationalized in his head that the guy had A-low or was trying to bluff him.
He will complain that he got 3 outed, but it isn't like they were both all in pre-flop... that would have been sick... instead, he had plenty of information. He made the call anyway.
If he held AK it is an instacall and if you get beat by A9, A5, 55, or 99, so it goes. But AJ was clearly not the best hand here after the re-raise all inComment -

#68It opens up the door for corruption. easily. There will be players on the Final table making deals left and right before Nov rolls around. They will basically have the money divided between them before a card is dealt by then.Comment -
