I think Atlanta will have to score 30 points to keep that a close game because the Eagles are gonna annihilate the Atlanta secondary
Leaving no safety help deep with White, Jones and Gonzalez is something Philly will not do. Philly has some great cbs, but all of them can be beat. Not sure what side I like in this game yet, but if you are loving Philly then Atlanta is likely the winning play. Even in a bad loss, Falcons got to Cutler. Vick is going to take some shots as well.

Philly game is a tough call. VIck back in ATL, you know he's been waiting for that one, I'm pretty sure he was injured last year for that game.
It's just Lakerboy being Lakerboy. When he hits one of these +350 Hail Mary's his praises will be sung for as long as it takes for him to finally hit another one.
Meanwhile Brahmabull will be crushed for 1 loss while he's batting .790 (because "HE'S SO SQUARE!!!").

I would like to agree, but philly held him to 45 yards last year and that was with a much weaker line and secondary. Now they can clog the box more on him to go along with the better line since the corners dont need as much help.

If you think Atl's secondary is terrible then you are hung up on the GB game last year.
Matty Ice is money in the dome.
Vick is coming to his first home in the SNF game.
This pick is no where near as easy as you think.
Few things...
Where was Burner last year when he ran for 45 vs a weaker version of this team??
I agree that the safeties are average and that the linebackers suck... but you are way off on the interior line calling them "awful". They are most likely above average starting with cullen jekins a probowl caliber player... then next to him is patterson who is very solid..
not saying the eagles are a lock.. but you are definitely off on some of your points..

Depending on what the line comes in at I have my eye on the Buff/Oak game. I don't like the situation for oak at all. They will be coming off a short week against a rival & have to travel across country for a 1PM game. I think this will be a great spot to take the Bills. I also like Wash -4.5. Arz historically has been terrible on the east coast & it's a 1PM game as well.

Don't get fooled by the CBs being able to do everything you believe they should. There are ways to scheme around them and neutralize them.
That secondary is extremely overrated. Teams just need to be able to formation them into certain things.

The safeties are average and i think that is well known... but i think it is tough to say nnamdi asante and drc are overrated.. When was the last time the league saw a trio like that?

lance moore should be back at least. we wont have to worry though b/c we will win the turnover battle 3-0 or 3-1 after cuntler throws 3 INT's. believe me, the saints have an emotional bond to this game. everyone down here in new orleans has been talking about this game 9/18 more during the offseason than anyother game, including the green bay game. the saints WANT to beat the bears BAD (b/c of the playoff game in 2006 with all the fan controversy + the other 2 years when the bears potentially eliminated them from playoff contention). drew will put on a clinic and the defense will respond well. traditionally the saints get geared up for big games and tend to "play down" to lesser opponents.
this is easy and all these ppl saying how much they love bears +7, theres a reason why the line is 7......

As a Vikings fan, I love the Bucs +3.
Vikings might just have the worst team in football. San Diego should have won by 3 TD's yesterday but shot themselves in the foot in the redzone. Vikings O-line and secondary are horrendous. Look for the Bucs to spread it out all game long.

The best bets I see are:
1.Cowboys-3- Romo will recover from that bad loss and have a great game. Their run D looked very good, secondary is banged up but Newman and Jenkins should play and Alex Smith is the qb so don't need to worry so much. 49ers won't have offense to compete with the Cowboys.
2. Rams +6 if Jackson and Bradford play, Giants will be worst team in NFC East losing Boss and Smith was stupid and too much injuries to that d.
3. Ravens-6 vs Titans. Titans played so ugly vs a weak jaguar team and now have to play a great Ravens team who will shut down that run game casing old man hassleback to throw.
4. Browns +1 vs Colts- Colts should trade a draft pick for a qb Collins is garbage and their run game and defense suck. Browns and Hillis run all over them.

None of those guys can play the slot. A good OC will just formation them into making Samuel and Asomugha into free safeties.

I would stay away from the Rams...Jackson will be out, their best WR is out, their best CB Ron Bartel is out, and their RT Jason smith is banged up, Bradford I think will play but may not be at full strength

over 38.5 in the steelers/seahawks game.
steelers will be so angry after the ravens beat down the will score over 30 themselves. just need a couple of fg from the seahawks.
This is cool thread, we should do the same next week, early start is key to getting an edge on plays

i dont understand why you think they will score a lot? they wont be able to pass much, the question is will turner run well? which he couldnt do last year vs a weaker version of this eagles d.... on the other side, the bears just ran it up on the falcons... how do they plan to stop this eagles offense?

NYG - 6 may be a good play. No Stephen Jackson for the Rams, which will put a lot of pressure on Bradford. Bradford is good when he can play second fiddle to Jackson, but I think he will be forced to throw 35+ times. And if Tuck and Osi are healthy, I could see it being a sackfest.
Also really like Cowboys -3. The 49ers are pretty bad. If it was weren't for Ted Ginn's Punt Return TD and Kick Return TD, they could have lost to the pitiful Seahawks at home. The Cowboys should have beaten a good Jets team, I expect them to beat a bad 49ers team. I don't see the Cowboys starting 0-2 this year.
Also REALLY like Bucs +3. I'd probably just take them straight up to win on the ML.

yeah but everyone knows the Bears play great at home and the Falcons play terrible on the road.... for whatever reason Matt Ryan is money in the dome....
Roddy White
Michael Jenkins
Tony Gonzalez
Julio Jones
and Mike Turner the burner????
somebody going to be open... if the Falcons O-Line protects Ryan he will have a big game
