Why do we tip in casino games like blackjack? Or even poker?

$30 TO $50 an hour dealing in Australia? This just goes to show how low the standard of living is for a lot of people in America. For the "Land of Equality and Opportunity" American is ridiculously unequal and unfair. The gap between the the rich and the poor is wider than the Grand Canyon. There are over-privileged filthy rich elitist that make so much money that they don't know what to do with, and they there are people that can't even make enough to support themselves and a family. American society, and the standard of living for the average American as gone down the shit-hole for decades for now.

The American Dream can only be a dream for a lot of people now. It is not longer achievable through handwork.

Plus the dealers are paid properly. $30 to $50 an hour depending on shifts.

People still tip bar/restaurant staff etc, if they love the meal or service. But minimum wage even for a cleaner in an Aussie casino is probably $20/hr so it's not like any staff member walks around thinking they need tips, or should be getting them as some sort of right.

HOLY SHITBALLS!!!! There are only four aces in the deck. A supervisor should have been called and your hand mucked. Fortunately, your dealer was nice. Hope you gave a GREAT tip.

Yes it is the best game, but stay away from the field bets,
hard ways and all other center bets.
          These are the sucker bets.
Playing pass\ don't pass come or place and
taking full odds on pass-line bets and come
          bets lowers the casinos take.

I don't tip in casinos unless I'm getting drinks at the bar. The table dealers aren't waiting on me therefor I don't tip them.

Wow, this to me is a very ugly thread, As I dealt cards for 5 years before owning my sportsbar and restaraunt.
Here is the thing and Im going to tell you everything there is to tell you about dealing and dealers.

First off, we remember the good players, and the tippers.

second, If I had a lowlife stiff at my table, then He would have a lowlife dealer dealing to him, You want a minimum wage dealer, then you got it you stiff motherf*cker.

third, we would all enjoy and get a good laugh when a known stiff got taken, NEVER WHEN A GEORGE or a GREAT TIPPER GOT KILLED, we would all cringe and be disgusted with ourselves when we would beat a good tipper.

fourth, I as many dealers count cards while we deal, especially when we dealt single and double deck BJ, If I had a pro at the table Id know it, and if this COCKHEAD wasnt toking, Id shuffle up on his ass every single time the deck would go favorable for him, If he plopped a bet twice the size Id yell checks play, Id tell supervisors when I got off the table, in other words Id do whatever was in my power to make sure this stiff didnt make money that night or prefferably at that casino.

NOW, If I had a pro that was a tipper, Id go deeper into a favorable deck and shuffle up on a negative deck, ALL GOOD DEALERS DO THIS.

If I had a regular joe who was tipping, Id tell him to double or tripple his wager, Id say something like, Oh man Big cards are comming, Id go two or 3 hundred here.

Id give advise on hitting and standing according to the true count.

In other words, Id do everything in my power to not only ensure player had a good time, but that the player had every chance to win.

That is a dealer in a nutshell, a good dealer, a seasoned dealer, I hope the imbecile who said a monkey can deal cards would run into a dealer like me, then he will see how this monkey is really King F*cking Kong.

mafioso that is dealing in blackjack...if you think the guy is a pro and counting you need to kick him out.

Tipping hurts bottom line in poker. rake and jackpot drop are already taking 5/6 dollars a hand. Gotta tip for the big hands or people will think you are a total nit and will take the game a lot more seriously themselves which is something you don't want. Still I just tip a dollar or two.

I couldn't give two shiets if the dealer and others are rooting for me or not.

I know nothing about poker other than its like sportsbetting and it takes a brain, the dealer cant help you, If the dealer cant help you than why expect a tip, When I dealt 3 card or carnial games, I never expected a tip, but when I dealt Blackjack, or if some asian douchebag playing BAC asked me what you think player or banker several times and hit a-lot when I was dealing, I sure damn expect him to come out of pocket.

So you have the balls to walk into a nice place to eat, Have the wait staff fill refill your drinks, wait on you hand and foot, be attentive to your beck and call and then walk away without leaving a tip?

I had Bridezillas filming at my place a month ago, Part of the act was for the Bridezilla Bitches to abuse my waitress.

They spent a few hundred but walked out without leaving a cent, I went outside and told them, I said, I dont give a shit who does it, but someone is going back in there and leaving her a atleast a 40 dollar tip, I dont care if its the director, the producer or one of you bridezilla hoes.

right is right, dont eat out you cheap ass bastards.

Absolutely unreal how you behave, you've convinced me to never tip a dealer again sir congratulations (in all honesty I was already probably not going to tip but your attitude shoved me into the absolutely never tip a dealer ever again mode), you are a cocky dickhead who expects the person you are stealing from to pay you to rob them so the person you are giving the loot to doesnt have to cut you in. You somehow find fault with the person being robbed not paying you rather than the casino owner that employs you not paying you (somehow you find that perfectly fine even though you are making THEM money and robbing the player), you sir are scum of the earth trash, just as you laugh at the ppl you rob at the table I will laugh at the dealer that makes jack shit next time Im playing, I'll be like yea your casino took me for 300 tonight so laugh it up bitch I know you only made fukin 7 bucks an hour to deal to me

I already stated this before and was completely ignored.

Since you were a dealer, I'm sure you are aware of this. i never had a dealer tell me when a deck is favorable, but I had dealers push hands that should of lost, pay me when I pushed, and even pay me BJ on a natural 20s. Its all because of tipping. I will not tip crap dealers who dont care, have attitude, or sweep away my money while making jokes smiling and laughing away. Service is important.

But I have given up on table games and just play poker full time. I give the floor man $20 almost every time I enter the card room which is 5 - 7 days week. He nods and immediately directs me to the live games. They know who the fish and whales are. When a seat is open on a cold table, my name will be casually skipped until the spot on the live game opens up. I guess it may seem unethical, but no one notices and no one cares and that $100 a week or so I tip the floor man has a huge return on these investments (plus everyone else along the way equates to much more).

Its very clear that many do not know how the gaming industry works, it has roots in the underbelly of society and you have to know how to play the game if you want to make money and getting on the shit# list will get you nowhere fast.

add-on.... I forgot to mention, but this is by far the most important, getting on the A-list by tipping also helps in getting around the W-2G form. Trust me, they will not do this for just anyone.

Bravo El Sol, Finally some who gets it, Yes I would as many other seasoned dealers would push hands that lost, make a mistake and pay hands that pushed OOOOPS
We dont or shall I say, I didnt care about the millionare Casino Owners and bosses, that and with how small and out dated the survalence cameras truly are and how little staff is actually employed Its a feeding frenzy if a dealer wanted to help out a player, chance of getting caught, slim and none, the only time you get caught is if the floor person trys to resolve a dispute.

And many floor people dont want to be bothered to begin with.

I once went to an all night cafe after a late night poker session with a casino poker dealer and was beyond shocked when I tried to put a buck on the table and the dealer said don't leave him anything.

The other night I was playing poker and a BJ dealer sat down at the table and proceeded to lose all his money,as the game was breaking up the poker dealer badmouthed the BJ dealer for not tipping, even though he watched his fellow employee lose his money he still wanted his piece

The funniest was the poker dealer who during his down
thought it wise to talk about how disgusted he was that another dealer came up with the idea of putting 50 cent pieces on the table so the max rake is 5.50 and that it cost him 8 grand a year
