Very sharp post, I'll give ya 10 SBR pts for this one, never thought of that but that makes alot of sense, when you get stuck in a traffic jam your brain like calculates damn theres too many ppl already so for god sakes slow down the population growth, then you see how much kids cost now and you're like not ONLY are they gonna quadruple the population in 30 years (with mostly idiots like Mayan as the intelligent ppl have already stopped having kids) and destroy the planet but they are costing themselves 300k/kid over the next 20 years (100k for college + avg cost of 10k/kid/year) as well, to do those kinds of things you really have to have some very tangible reasons in my opinion and they are just not there

I knew from time i was 16 i didnt want kids im now almost 30 turns out i made the right choice FOR ME damn near everybody i know is miserable with kids. I like having me and my girls disposable income its very nice being able to do what we want when we want i dont need so little version of me that will cost me money and give me gray hair. We are as happy as could be a kid would **** that up. People with kids will never admit kids are a mistake and everybody says they love their kids but we all know this isnt the case... Im posting this from gym just had an awesome workout at 2:30 am pst cant really do that with kids. Kids would really **** up my life just when im getting my life just how i want it. No thanks i think i'll just be an awesome uncle help at risk youth be a big brother etc

I cant justify the poorness of their economic decisions with my own existence though my parents were fortunately well off when they had my brother and I but they were still very poor economic decisions and I honestly dont know why they did it, in all honesty having kids has become a progressively worse idea in the US than it was in 1981 when I was born, the last 30 years have not been kind to the US and having kids is twice as bad an idea now as it was back then and it was already a terrible idea then. Now you really have to be concerned if entitlement programs will even exist by the time you reach retirement age, that 300k per kid you blew when you were 30 may come back to haunt your ass when youre 70 and workin at McDs to pay the utilities. Most kids when a parent gets old just "put em in a home" to get the **** rid of that old bag of trash, when you dont have SS comin in to be put in a home or medical expenses I wonder what the response will be, "just put em to sleep" maybe.

Lets say I ****** a bunch of trailer trash and knocked em up would that be a good decision just bc the kids would exist? I mean perhaps on an individual level the kid would be glad he or she exists but from an economic point of view it would be terrible

Exactly, if you really like hangin out with kids and you're not a fuckin child molester go work at the YMCA or volunteer as a big brother or whatever and get all the kid interactions you want anytime you like, the kid will probably end up liking you more (since all his memories of you are going out and having fun) than that stupid **** that fathered him that has to work 70 hours a week while still going broke to keep the lights on that he never sees other than when he comes home and complains about how miserable his days been and then gets in a screaming contest with his wife over money problems caused by the children they cant afford while she gets miserable changing diapers and dealing with kids all day and becomes a disgusting whale

When you have kids through marriage and there is 2 incomes coming in it's not as bad as you think. It's not easy though, my wife and I pay over 500 dollars a month in after care. I have two kids, our grocery bill monthly is over 500 dollars so those two bills alone can cost a grip.

If we do not have children (future slaves), who is going to pay back China the money we owe them and fight the wars that the politicians and the big businessmen start? I saw this place going to hell long ago economically as well as ecologically and decided then (when I was about 18) to not have children. I know I made the right choice, I hope that you that decided to have children feel the same.
On a side note. I get bothered having to pay school taxes at the same rate of someone that has children. I am not suggesting I pay no school taxes, but to have to pay an equal amount does not make sense to me. If having children is such a miracle/blessing/wonderful bullshit, then a parent should WANT to pay more than someone like me with no children.

Good points, but I don't see the problem being that there are too many people. The problem is that there are too many people living way too long. Modern medicine has stretched our average lifespan to much longer than it was just a few centuries ago. The average lifespan in the 18th century was 35 years. During the 20th century, the average lifespan in the United States increased by more than 30 years. And now, the worldwide average lifespan is 67 years. We're living too long.

The Earth can support the population, if we didn't live as long as do. People say that the solution is to have less babies, to recycle, to save the environment, etc. How about we just quit keeping people alive artificially for decades? I know that it sounds callous, but really, is there an alternative?
