i cant help but to laugh at all of the people who picked shogun to actually have a legitimate chance at defeating jon jones.

jon jones is in an entirely different class/league than most people in mma today. that fight was way too easy to call, shoulda been jon jones -500.

same shit with fedor vs antonio silva, buncha squares on old man fedor and he gets creamed by the new era of fighters.

just in the last year or so you're starting to see a new level of athlete in the mma world.

Show me a screen shot of your Antonia Silva play. Hardcores, casuals and sports analysts alike picked Fedor to win that fight. If you were that confident you on this play you would have won a lot of money it. I bet small on Bigfoot but it was a value play and I was not confident at all he would win.

I cant actually I bet it through sportsbook.com when I useto use them,

I just tried and it says:
The calendar allows you to display wagers from the previous date of your choice, or within a range of dates (a 30-day range only).

so I guess I cant really prove it, oh well, is what it is, I didnt claim to bet the house on it. lol.

I think I had $50 on Silva. I do more "picks" than I do wagering on mma. I was confident he would win.

            carry on.

that's all you trolls got? I wouldn't expect anything less. Unlike you trolls, I did mention his extraordinary reach and it's one of the main reasons I picked him to win this fight, I just didn't think it would neutralize Shogun to the extent it did in this fight. I sadly overestimated the bandwagon shogun. Change your username to shogunnuthugger. You don't know shit about MMA. MMA"disciple" . F*ucking clown.

, so it's Jones' fault that he's a big natural light heavyweight and he can fight comfortably at this weight class? Overeem? Who has this scrub fought in the past century? He has fought nobody. Half the fighters in the UFC would destroy him. I would even give the scrub lesnar a good chance of putting Overeem to sleep.

Point is, none of these guys is even close to the versatility Jones brings to the table. Jones's reach and unorthodox strikes allows him to stand up with anyone, but what's the point when he can just takedown Shogun whenever he wants. On the ground, he can submit you or throw elbows and put you to sleep.
I agree Jones hasn't fought anyone close to the caliber of fighters Shogun has in their careers, but look what Jones has done to everyone that faced him. He's made everyone look like minced meat. Nobody has even come close, not even a sniff at beating Jones.
I said this last week and everything holds true along with everything else I said about this fight.

the evolution of mma has been crazy. gsp and jones are unbeatable at their weight classes. silva's lack of wrestling is a problem, and until he wins a sonnen rematch handily, i still have questions about him.

Because you called this one fight correctly, a favourite based from UFC hype don't kid yourself that you're some guru on the sport. You'll be riding Jones wagon until he loses and then you'll jump on the bandwagon of whoever Joe Rogan is yelling the loudest about next. I'm sure you were picking Machida to beat Shogun the second time.

Jones being able to dominate from top position doesn't prove your halfwit assertion that Shogun is a one dimensional striker. If Shoguns BJJ was completely non-existent he would have been destroyed the first time Jones took him down, even though he got dominated in the fight he was able to control Bone's wrists & posture and was still going for the kneebar sweep, using this non-existent BJJ he was able to defend off his back better than anyone has been able to. The nature of the sport is that wrestlers will generally dominate grapplers and strikers if they can control the fight from top game, yet the stylistic matchups always play a huge part.

You going to discount BJ Penns grappling cause of what Edgar, GSP and Fitch did to him?

Jones is just that good, with his height and reach combined with his wrestling advantage he will probably dominate everyone at LHW. At HW where he doesn't have the huge height and reach advantage and against 265lb monsters who he probably won't be able to dominate as easy, his athleticism and strength won't trump technique so much. If he couldn't take Overeem, JDS or Carwin down his standup would be exposed and chin surely tested. There are no absolutes in MMA.

The fact is Shogun has shown advanced BJJ in many of his fights in the UFC and in Pride, is one of the top 5-10 BJJ guys in the sport, not all jiu-jitsu is flashy submissions. The sweep on Machida to get mount, technically sublime, kneebar attempt on Chuck, sweeping Coleman several times. That you quote a douchebag like Sonnen (an All American wrestler who got embarrassingly Osoto-Gari'd into a mount triangle set-up by a bjj blackbelt) and talk so ignorantly and disrespectful of something and disregard someone like Overeem, you're clearly one of the new fans to jump onto UFC since it's become popular, you have no idea about the history of the sport, nor the time and dedication it takes earn a legit black belt.

I hope you understand learning the names of submissions from Joe Rogan while you scoff your face with doritos and twinkies while watching a UFC PPV on a Saturday night doesn't make you the grand arbiter of MMA or who is legit at BJJ.

so your saying jones, doesn't cut weight.....shogun doesn't cut weight, so he is a natural LHW... Not jones....

Care to argue any of the points I made?

100% I was following the sport before you even knew what it was son.

I don't hate Joe Rogan, how he influences stupid fans is kind of annoying and his comedy only really appeals to the lowest common denominators. Bravo is the one that really shits me.

Kind of ironic you mention sherdog as most forums are full of noob fans who think Rogan's some kind of genius. I generally dont post at all regarding MMA. It gets tiring dealing with black belts in stupidity.

Well-educated fans had no reason to believe that Jones would win so decisively. It's important to remember that arguably Shogun's greatest strength is his underrated, fluid ground game: he effortlessly omoplata swept Ricardo Arona, synched up a brutal kneebar on Kevin Randleman from half guard, and swept Machida almost instantly (who is a very good grappler on the ground). Jones, on the other hand, is only a white belt with submission wins over a couple of wrestlers. Point is, nobody had any idea how Shogun's guard would match up against Jones' top control prior to the fight. A -500 line for Jones would have been absolutely ludicrous given everything we knew about both fighters' skills at that point in time.

Haters is one of Rogans catchphrases for anyone who criticises him. Funny thing is I didn't even actually initially disparage Rogan in anyway and still this Rod1010 fellow flew into a rage and tell a player to stop hating.

From what I've seen most of the noobs love him and tout him as one of the greatest free-thinkers and comedians the world has ever seen. Rogan's own forum is a hive of sycophancy and mma.tv - the UG is a total Rogan fagfest. I only use sherdog for the pbp's for the undercards. Posting on MMA forums is like pissing into an ocean of piss.

For the record I think all the commentators are below par aside Militech and Quadros.
Rogan is ok at times he does know what he's talking about but lets hyperbole take over, much like his comedy, it consists mostly of getting over excited and yelling a lot.

Wish I could still get lines like this on Jonny Bones, the greatest of all time... sigh.
