Yeah I'll vote for him. Gotta say I'm not a huge fan of any potential candidates except maybe hillary but Obama has done a 7.5/10 job, which is good. Especially good considering how inexperienced he was coming into his first term. I think he deserves a second term especially considering it'll be a wartime election.

.... except we didn't get out of it because of the spending. Most economists agree that the New Deal really extended the Great Depression longer than just waiting it out. We were in the depression until after WW2, when the surge of soldiers, eager to work a regular job and full of entrepeneurial ideas, came home. As usual, the govt made things worse. There was actually a plan for a 2nd New Deal after WW2, but the public already realized how bad tthe first one failed, and it wouldn't have been popular.

And China has less than 8% of our debt, so that's not too much of a worry... not yet at least

If anyone thinks Obama's economic policies are so amazing, then try this. Go borrow as much money as you can, taking every last penny people are willing to lend to you, and go and spend it on random things you don't need. And then see how wealthy and prosperous that makes you.

If you're not willing to do it on an individual level, what makes you think doing it on a national level will lead to wealth and proseprity? And calling spending on nonsense "investments," doesn't make it any wiser.

to the guy who said that the GOP should nominate a "young hotshot"...that won't work. The whole GOP argument on Obama has/will be that he lacks experience, so you can expect they will go with a guy like Romney (who probably won't win).

They have a very little chance of winning, and I plan on dumping my roll on the Democrats at -173 on Pinny for 2012. I expect that Christie or Rubio will run in 2016 and one of them will win. Those 2 are really the only hope for the GOP having the POTUS in the near future, if you ask me.

(Obama is trading at around 1.70+ on betfair right now) do you really think there is much chance it isn't going to be Obama up there ? and 2. I think the odds will move more towards the center when the mud slinging starts ... and with an exchange - you at least have more of an opportunity to trade out of the bet at any time.

I don't see anyone on the Repub ticket that will beat Obama as of now.

The notion that Obama helped (or saved ) the economy might fly with Democratic leaning voters arguing on a messageboard but nowhere else.

Remember the "Summer of Recovery", which was a concerted, post-stimulus PR effort trying to spin a recovery in the run-up to the mid-term elections?

Total failure.

Government has gone bankrupt, spending won't go down, and the administration is going to bat in trying to preserve privilege for public employee unions - where workers can't get fired, get automatic pay raises, don't have to contribute to pensions, and are in general the very definition of inefficiency.

This is what we get when we hire a community organizer as President. Disaster.
