A couple of weeks ago I put the tread mill at 10.0, ran for 6 miles which took 60 min so yes I can do it. Could have even gone further. But I'm more like WVGambler, I'm better with sprinting/short bursts/weight lifting. I'd much rather bench/lift weights or play basketball or something than jog.
How many here could jog for an hour without stopping?

#37on the soft plastic treadmill surface: easily
on the asphalt street like marathon runners do: would probably struggle mightily, but would probably able to do it, especially if your just talking about a jog.Comment -

#40Hate running but bang out 3 miles in around 20 mins daily because its the quickest way to burn calories compared to getting on the stationary, stepper, etc. If it wasn't for the IPOD I probably wouldn't even do it, so as for your question, I could do it but no way in hell would I spend an hour on a treadmill.Comment -

#44I guess that would depend whether it's on level ground or uphill. Right now I'm just trying to build my stamina back up. I'm doing 20 min on the steepest incline, tacking on 30 seconds each time I run, which is every other day. My goal is to get back up to 30 min, which would be 3 miles.
PS, jogging every day is bad for your health. You lose muscle mass and your body doesn't get enough recovery time. Good way to blow out your knees and pull muscles. Don't do it unless you're training for a marathon. If you still want to excercise on your rest day try lifting weights or something to work the upper body, like boxing.Comment -

#48Patty, are you now my e-stalker? I'm starting to worry Patty. Every thread you start has my name in it.
Patty - don't worry. I'll be back in chat soon. I realise you miss me Patty but the Internet guys have been giving me the runaround. They're supposed to be here today Patty and if they manage to finally do their fukking jobs for once I'll come say hi in chat.
I love you too Patty.Comment -

#49I don't think I could do it today. I have been sick for a month.
Last fall I don't think it would have been a problem if I had a reason. I ran in school but I hate it now. Its murder on the knees.
We jogged a quite a bit in fire school, I hated it. But I loved jogging 3 flights (in full bunker gear on air) of stairs and then back down again, over and over again till you run out of a tank of air. Some of the people that did killed me on the runs, had a hard time with the stairs.
I also enjoy hill sprints.

#64At the moment no. I could walk it / but not jog. My body was not made for jogging. I've had 5k and 10k runs in the past. Knees and feet issues stopped that. I do spin classes for cardio. That is my base line for conditioning at least one hour week. During a training cycle I've raised that to as high as ten hours a week. Tomorrow I could walk or ride it, but jog or run no way.Comment -
