    I'm not talking about taking the extra roll of tp from the motel type of cheap.

    I had an aunt that was so cheap that she would would cut rubber bands in half lengthwise to make two out of them....top that !

    I have a buddy who buys a chicken breast and 2 wings from the deli already cooked. He then buys like 4 potatoe wedges. They package them seperate. He proceeds then as we are walking thru the store to stick the chicken in the potatoe wedge bag and they never catch it. I think he saves about $4.

          I've never done it, but how about taking the ketchup packets from fast food places and making a bottle of ketchup out of it ? Even worse would be salt.

            that's outright shoplifting ! I was aiming more like taking too many napkins from wendy's and maybe using them for toilet paper sort of stuff.

              When i worked in a Deli we had a guy tell about how he would save money by buying a gallon of 2% milk and mixing it with 1/2 water to make 2 gallons of 1% milk.

              True story, not only incredibly cheap, but incredibly stupid as well --

                  Fishhead should be good for a few gems. I guarantee he takes the TP from Motel6 when travelling by car.

                    I saw a guy walk into a gas station, throw a bunch of loose change on the counter, make the cashier count it, and then prepay his gas with it. I think it came out to $2.50 or something.

                      had a BBQ at my house. a friend brought over a platter of food which went untouched. anyway he left it at my house so I took it to work the next day for lunch and to share with coworkers. later my friend asked me if he could have "his" food back. when I told him I ate it, he then asked me for $30 to pay for it...

                          My father used to take from fast food restaurants all the time. We never needed to buy salt or pepper because he always emptied the containers with the packets. Same with napkins, he'd take all the napkins so there's no need to buy paper towels for home.

                          On plane trips, he'd take all the tampons from the airplane bathroom, 4 or 5 airplane pillows. This isn't even cheap anymore, this is just outright theft.

                                      In this day and age of being green and saving everything, you can turn used up bits of soap into new bars, which are unique and get the job done!
                                      Difficulty: Easy
                                      Instructions
                                      Things You'll Need:

                                      * soap scraps
                                      * saucepan
                                      * water
                                      * olive oil
                                      * Muffin tins

                                      1.
                                      1

                                      Save up those last soap remnants in a container. I keep a plastic traveling soap carrier on the tub and when the soap bar gets too small I toss it in. I make sure the the other bathrooms are equipped with the same carriers for easy storage.
                                      2.
                                      2

                                      Place the scraps into a saucepan and pour water over them enough to cover them. Let them soak overnight.
                                      3.
                                      3

                                      The next day, bring the water to a boil and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Stir well while boiling.
                                      4.
                                      4

                                      Pour the hot mixture into greased muffin tins. Be careful not to burn yourself! I use a soup ladle for for neatness and cleanliness. Allow the mixture to harden. Once hardened, pop them out. Voila! new unique soap bars!

                                        My dad used to make us takes all of the jelly packets from denny's/waffle house growing up.

                                        I used to date a girl who's grandfather used to give his kids 9 squares of toilet paper per day, and that was their limit. No idea if he bought single/double/triple ply.

                                        I have a friend that takes rolls of toilet paper out of public restrooms.

                                            ok another one - working at a meat dept in grocery store, front end guy calls me up.

                                            A customer brought back a bag of fat trimmed off a steak, says he bought a Ribeye and it had too much fat on it and wanted his money refunded. We ask where the 'steak' was and he say he ate it --

                                            seriously, work in a grocery store, you see some of the cheapest and most stupid people ever -

                                                    I had a roommate who reused paper towels. He would clean something up, rinse them out at the sink, and then let them dry out so he could use them again.

                                                            There is a nice steak house not far from my house. The staff is mostly young people who go to the nearby university. Lovely young people, friendly, give good service. I like going to this restaurant.

                                                            One night I took my wife there (yes, she is willing to be seen with me in public), and our waiter was also serving a table next to ours. The people at the other table were obnoxious, rude, loud mouthed, pushy, and ran the waiter ragged with nonsense. Their ticket was $80. They left a $1 tip. these a-holes made it a point to point out that they were white and the waiter was black. Now, given how demanding these a-holes were, the waiter did an excellent job serving them, I would have poured cooking grease on the mo fos and set them on fire. The waiter was upset, no so much because of the $1 tip but because the red necks made a point to bring up race.

                                                            The bill for my wife and I was something like $25. We left a 20% tip of both bills, ours and the table next to ours, $25. My wife said "not all white people are crackers, I mean my husband is, but not all of us". The waiter laughed and laughed. I didn't see the humor in it myself. I really hate white people sometimes (I'm white).
