I'll give you one quick example. Take the Giants, They needed to add some offense. Instead of trading for a guy like Adam Dunn who obviously was not a big steroid guy (continous to put up big numbers) they tried to get some hitting on the "cheap".

The first guy they brought in was Pat Burrell. Now it looks like this guy is a "natural" hitter who is still putting up some nice power numbers. This leads me to believe he was never a big steroid guy, problem is, he is a slow piece of shit that will end up hurting you on defense more than he helps with his bat... You get what you pay for.

The next guy they tried to bring in on the cheap was Jose Guillen. This guy is an OBVIOUS steroid guy. He used to be a great hitter, with power to all fields, and close to a .300 average. Now he looks frail, cant hit for nearly as much power and is pretty much a below average player.. Again, you get what you pay for...

There "best" pitcher, Tim Lincecum, seems to have been aided by some kind of PED (performance inhancing drug) as well. This is common knowledge now, as his stats are down and he is getting hit like never before. I have been fading him for a while now (not for enough I must admit) and you should still be able to get some good prices as no one wants to believe the 2 time Cy Young winner is just a "pretty good" pitcher now.

So to sum it up, Im pretty much telling you the Giants WONT make up the 5 games and catch the Padres. A lot of people think they will so you should still be able to get a good price on the Padres..

Runs are WAY Down and the lack of Steroids,HGH, and Uppers are the only explaination.
