What (US) location has most of these qualities ?

Warm climate.....little to no snowfall

Somewhat inexpensive cost of living

A possibility of actually being able to get a halfway decent job

Being near the coast would be a plus

Not a total crime ridden place.....aka not too highly Nigerian in complexion. Mexicans are more acceptable as neighbors.

Small city is fine, like Colorado Springs sized. I'm not too fond of LA type traffic.


Vegas is OK but lacks jobs and is isolated in the desert hundreds of miles from the shore.

Florida is doable but jobs seem tough there.

Arizona possibly.

I don't like Phoenix, too much like Vegas without the good stuff.

I like Flagstaff area in the summer but it doesn't work in the winter. This kind of leaves Tucson.

I think there are decent parts of the Carolinas, but I don't want to be somewhere that is like 50%+ Black. Hilton Head is nice but expensive.

I haven't driven in Mexico since about 1985. I don't really wish to cross the border these days , as a driver.

I can't get everything on my list in one place. The most important one would be the warm climate. I'm sick of Winter. I wouldn't fit too well in someplace like Birmingham, Ala, either. I'd prefer moving back to Colo Springs over B'ham, despite the climate not being what I want.

I felt fine living in a Mexican part of SD ( Carlsbad, in an area that was mostly Mexican). I want a cheaper less crowded place than that now.

Southern AZ would have a nice bonus of few insects.

Lakes could work instead of the ocean for some spots.

No state income tax, real estate was dirt cheap at the time (not sure now), and the ocean is near by. Plus you can live your entire life there and avoid the tourists if you choose to do so because the city is spread out so well.

Northern half of the FL coasts, the job salary just depends on what you do for a living. Another really nice place are the Islands off of south GA. coast.

tourists don't bother me. With Florida, I think I'd want to be on either coast, Orlando is still a good drive to either coast and kind of hotter.

I like Daytona Beach and Tampa areas. Miami seems too crowded.

I don't want to move back to Vegas. Somewhere different is desired. I do like Florida but have never lived there. I'm unsure about the Gulf side with the oil spill going on, though. I wouldn't want to move to somewhere like Clearwater right before they rename it "Oil Beach".

It does seem like it would be very affordable to live there, except for hurricane insurance.

Where I live is exactly what you are looking for. Not on the coast but borders all the gulf states, carolinas, & virginia so not a long trip for beach vacation, just no beach living.

99.99999% white! There was one black family in the county but I think they got burned out last week!

This all white population is mainly baptist so don't take one fishing with you, he'll drink all your beer. You have to take 2 baptists with you because one wont drink in front of the other.

Very low crime unless you count domestic violence. When you get large white families together they get drunk on shine & whoop the hell out of each other but leave everyone else alone.

Cost of living is as low as you'll find anywhere. The economy is down everywhere but if you're in a specialized field you can find a job

You have to leave in Nogales AZ, to drive 20 in to get to Mexico, other cities like tucson or phoenix are 1 and a half and 3 hours away respectively. Plus once your are in Mexico you have to drive about 4-5 hours to get at Puerto Pe;asco.
