As a NRA instructor of concealed weapons classes in FL, you and many like you get flunked in my classes with attitudes like that. Why would you pay $800 for a Glock 23? They sell all day long used at gun shows for $400. At most $500 with a light rail and night sights.

take a look at the glock 40 s & w .. and the .44 both are great guns for a first time gun owner..

if you want something that you think maybe your wife or girl might have to use to protect herself if she is home alone a lot.. u might want to take a look at the taurus millenium pro... its a small , beautiful, easy to shoot, very very affordable and highly reliable gun made by an awesome gun company.. back home in miami a lot of hustlers like carrying these cause they are super easy to conceal yet don't look like a chick gun... also the company is based out of miami so i think they fell off a lot of trucks if you know what i mean

also my last suggestion is the baby eagle.. if you like the glock.. give a baby eagle a shot.. they are probably the most beautiful mid to small size handgun ever made besides some classic looking 6 shooters..
