    Edwin Diaz

Edwin Diaz hitting Jose Peraza with the bases loaded to force in a run and then getting immediately pulled summarizes his entire Mets tenure perfectly.

Mets keep saying Diaz has fixed his mechanics from last year but you just need to watch him to know it's not true. He still doesn't know where his fastball is going. Can't be the closer.

He's throwing 99 and can't get out of an inning.

His fastball is straight as a board.

Reality is you need to take him out of the 9th inning. Lugo should be closing. Move Diaz into more of a middle relief role and see if you can rebuild some confidence in lower stress situations. You can handle the back end of the game with Lugo, Betances, Wilson and Familia.
