Ok , so a couple times a year I like to "take a shot down field" sort of speak

I do this when bonuses and cash back add up to a decent amount

Last night I risked $710 on a 8 team parlay....

I don't watch the games or score watch when I do this. I simply wake up the next day and log in with a glimmer of hope. I am aware it's a long shot to do this with less than 1% shot but I do it anyways.

Last night it went 7-1. The loss was on the Hornets. I read they blow a 20 point lead with 15 minutes left in the game.

Sick to my stomach right now. Would have won 65k

It went as follows

Hornets -3.5

Cavs +11.5

Pistons -3.5 (bought half point)

Grizzlies +1.5 (bought half point)

Raptors +4.5

Heat +7.5 (bought half point)

Pacers +3.5 (bought half point)

Thunder ML -530

Cant catch a break!

And of course the Hornets play was the one I thought hardest about...

Some guy I ran into in south Lake- claim he nail a 12 team parley on a $10 bet - during college football championship game- over $20,000

i hit a 12 team NFL parlay 10 to win 15k when I was a freshman in college and have been hooked on them ever since. I put in one long shot everyday. 710$ on that mean teams is pretty aggressive but as one degen to another I get it especially if you are up and are going for the big payday. I have won plenty of parlays that have paid bigger than this since and have lost some sick ones on the final leg that would have paid 100k. It's like hitting the jackpot in slots as an old lady. You are hooked for life and will go back forever and blow every single dollar and then some. Not too much all the time spent at the casino and the relationships or work that suffered bc of it.

Worst thing to ever happen to me was winning that parlay at such a young age. It hooked me for life. Couple that with the online poker craze that was at its peak at the time and I was spending a ton of time focusing on gambling. I was gambling and spending money partying like the gravy train would never stop. It definitely hurt my grades a ton among other things. I'm in it for the long haul now but wish I could go back and just live a normal life.
