Lets debate how we should address very active posters

Four threads and twenty posts a day are plenty for anybody for any reason...You're doing us a favor if you give us term limits.

There have been in-game threads that had several thousand views and hundreds of responses over the course of the game. Think about it for a moment, there aren't any sports that 'go' every second, so sometimes between plays other topics get discussed, then back to the game and so forth. It's easy to rack up over 100 posts during a in game thread when there's a half dozen posters or so. Hopefully, common sense will prevail for those situations.

I don't think I've had 9,135 total thoughts since 10-13-09.

I haven't been here long (although I've been lurking) but this is ridiculous by any standard. This poster needs a timeout. Maybe a warning or two then a suspension would cause some to rethink their strategy. I think an overall post limit across the board would be the wrong way to go. As many of you have stated there are legitimate reasons (in game post, etc.) why a poster could rack up some posts but unless you bet on Todd Palin and are following the iditarod by the second there is no way you rack up anywhere near that total.

I hope the bash doesn't have comps for people with a high post count, but instead rewards steady posting over an extended period of time. The spammers should not be rewarded (for the pre-power poster 5/10 era)

The trick will be not to get on PowerPoster5. No one will be put on it for joining in legit discussion of in game threads. A guy will be put on it if they are drowing out good threads.

And to be clear, Power Posters are people too! We will try hard to be fair but the move will be to promote quality over quanity.

Changing anything on account of whatsgood5 actions, is only feeding the guys image that he is so much seeking. I actually believe people on the extreme are good for here, and people need not be jealous of them. What was suppost to be a debate soon fell into a lynching. Alot of people here said leave alone as all was well. If indeed anything needs to be done then restricting number of 25 point bonuses per month is a fine idea.

Id say max 10 posts a day. That way people will really try to make them count.

Why? The idea is to limit the amount of junk posts. Why would you force someone to log in everyday and post a useless post like good morning or good luck?

No what I said is give everyone 200 points at the end of the month regardless of posts or days logged in. Basically it evens out the field. It makes posting to get points meaningless.

They give 7 points a day already. 7x31 = 217. They will save 17 points a month with my idea.

Oh, that idea makes sense. You really didn't specify no points for logging in and posting. Just made it seem like you meant for milestones. But yeah, this wouldn't be a terrible idea.
